In NBC News’ early October national survey, just 4% of registered voters said they didn’t want to make a choice between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. One said they plan to vote for Trump, another that they are likely to vote for Harris, and another plans to not vote at all. How anyone could still be undecided a week out from a critical election can be difficult to fathom for supporters of either Trump or Harris. Eric Bush, a systems administrator from Florida, said he’s waiting until he is in the voting booth to make his final choice. But he is still weighing backing Harris, acknowledging a vote for Harris could lead to bigger-government policies that could help others.

His rally speeches now feature a spoof video mocking trans people and their place in the U.S. military. In doing so, Vance was citing conservative anger about affirmative action and other programs geared toward historically disenfranchised groups. “Why are we debating trans people’s medical care? Trump’s campaign had received an offer to join the show, according to sources close to the former president, but ultimately decided to pass. The latest ABC News/Ipsos national poll showed Trump trailing Harris among likely female voters by 14-points – a margin that far outpaces his 6-point lead among men. These events will continue through the weekend with popular female Trump supporters, including Arkansas Gov. Trump has also relied on other White men to help reach female voters. An opportunity for HarrisAn appearance on “Call Her Daddy” might not have resolved Trump’s longstanding challenge with female voters.

CNN —Election polls can’t foretell who will win the presidential election. But throughout the year, polling data has helped to capture the contours of the 2024 race, with several findings that fall well outside the margin of error. While the results of issue polls can sometimes vary based on framing, some results have been remarkably robust. Here are more findings from the polls about this year’s election:Which issues matter to which voters? With Republicans favored to win the Senate, Harris may have few opportunities to pursue an ambitious legislative agenda, shifting the Democratic ideological fight to key personnel decisions. “It’d be a strategic blunder for Harris to pick an ugly fight over Lina Khan’s future when there’s already strong consensus among Democrats. Moderate senators like Bob Casey and Jackie Rosen are actively campaigning on the FTC’s work to lower prices,” said a Senate Democratic aide, who was granted anonymity to discuss a sensitive subject. Removing her would not only infuriate the left but it could provoke a confirmation fight with Senate Republicans over her replacement. Some in the progressive movement believe Harris should simply leave her there without going through confirmation again in the Senate if need be.

Harris campaign officials had always planned for star-studded events in the homestretch of the presidential election. Harris pollster Matt Barreto, who focuses on Latino voters, argued that endorsements can help mobilize voters. Annie Mulligan/APBoth campaigns utilize the power of celebrityEver since Harris’ campaign kicked off with Charli XCX’s lime green stamp of approval, Hollywood’s influence has been in the spotlight. Both Harris and Trump swiftly pounced on the “Swiftie” fanbase, showcasing the pop superstar’s immense reach: The Harris campaign created Harris-Walz friendship bracelets inspired by the singer, while the Trump campaign released Eras Tour-inspired T-shirts. As Election Day nears, the Harris campaign is bringing in more A-listers to mobilize people to vote, including a long-anticipated appearance by Beyoncé last week.

Biden mentioned Puerto Rico, slandered as a “floating island of garbage” by a comedian at Trump’s event on Sunday night. “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said, pausing for a moment before continuing. She’s now almost certain to be asked whether she also regards Trump’s backers as “garbage.” Her answer will only prolong the story. In a neck-and-neck race that may be decided by mere thousands of votes in swing states, neither Harris nor Trump can afford mistakes. And as CNN reported on Tuesday, his gaffes have caused responses – from eyerolls to outright anger – from some Harris campaign aides.

CNN —Democrats are mounting an unprecedented digital advertising campaign in the closing weeks of the presidential race, pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into a targeted effort that the party hopes will tip the balance in one of the closest elections in US history. The effort is being steered by Future Forward PAC, or FF PAC, the largest single-candidate super PAC in the 2024 election. The 2024 election is poised to break the record set by the 2020 election and see $10.2 billion worth of campaign advertising, according to the ad tracking firm AdImpact. FF PAC has not engaged in a comparable turnout effort, leaving that traditional campaign activity to the cash-flush Harris operation.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a long-shot bid by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who ended his independent presidential campaign, to remove his name from the ballot in the key swing states of Wisconsin and Michigan. Voting is already underway in both states, so it never seemed likely the Supreme Court would grant Kennedy's requests. The Wisconsin Supreme Court and the Michigan Supreme Court both ruled against Kennedy last month. Kennedy has not sought to remove himself from the ballot in all states. In fact, in New York he tried to have his name added to the ballot in a bid to frustrate Democrats, a move the Supreme Court rejected in September.

Vance, who is expected to hold a campaign event in Pennsylvania later Wednesday, will meet with Rogan at his podcast studio in Austin, Texas. Though this will be his first appearance on Rogan’s show, Vance has appeared on dozens of podcasts since joining the Republican presidential ticket. Last week, the senator sat for two separate podcast tapings — Theo Von and Tim Dillon — for a combined nearly four hours of content. The Trump interview episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” has already garnered over 37.5 million views on YouTube alone in less than a week. The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to Rogan’s post.

But equally important, in their view, was its ability to evoke the promise of the office she seeks. That was not the original intent of Harris’ major address, aides said, but they believe it serves as a timely rebuttal. A permit for the event showed as many as 20,000 people were expected to attend, with spillover onto the National Mall – her first major campaign speech outdoors in Washington. Last week, the leading super PAC supporting Harris’ candidacy raised concerns that the Harris campaign was too closely centering its closing message on calling Trump a fascist. The sweeping backdrop of the White House and the National Mall was designed for maximum effect a week before the final day of voting.

And the legal challenges could continue for weeks or months to come. The legal team also relies on a team of advisers, including longtime Biden lawyer Bob Bauer, who advises on litigation strategy and voter protection, and former US Solicitors General Don Verrilli and Seth Waxman. In addition, the Harris legal team is supported by a “field counsel” program that coordinates with local firms in each state that can provide specialized knowledge about election law and procedures in each jurisdiction. Sources close to the Trump legal team say they have not only focused on recruiting legal firepower but on identifying viable legal challenges. “What we have to do is protect every voter and every vote, which is what we’re doing,” said Remus, of the Harris legal team.

By Mark MurrayThe razor-close presidential election could very well come down to this question: Will the infrequent voters who back Donald Trump by double digits actually turn out? And she carries the tiny share of voters who participated in 2022 but not 2020 by 9 points (52% to 43%). And he’s carrying the voters who didn’t partake in either 2020 or 2022 by 10 points (50% to 40%). On the other hand, NBC News recently observed a pair of focus groups of voters who didn’t participate in the 2020 election but are planning to this time around. CNN —Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday condemned the tone of former President Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden the night before, arguing that it underscored her campaign’s argument against him. “I think last night, Donald Trump’s event in Madison Square Garden really highlighted a point that I’ve been making throughout this campaign,” Harris told reporters before heading to Michigan. Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s comments about Puerto Rico provoked the most backlash. “This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,” Trump campaign spokesperson Danielle Alvarez said in a statement to CNN on Sunday night. “Donald Trump spends full time trying to have Americans point their finger at each other, fans the fuel of hate and division.

Gary Peters are both expected to appear at the rally, per the campaign. The Rogan interview is a continuation of Trump turning to nontraditional media outlets, including podcasts, in the weeks leading up to Election Day. Rogan also invited Vice President Kamala Harris to do an interview, but her campaign has declined. Later in the interview, Rogan seemed to foreshadow the fact that Trump’s Lee comment could get him criticized. Vice President Kamala Harris had also been in talks to do an interview with Rogan but it didn’t pan out. As the third hour of the interview approached, Trump said he realized he needed to get to a scheduled rally in Michigan, which he was late for because of the length of the Rogan interview.

The former president is returning to his hometown on Sunday for a rally in one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks, Madison Square Garden. Harris and Trump have made clear the issues they’re highlighting in the campaign’s last days. That argument illustrates what a Harris administration would look like compared with the threat Harris says Trump poses, the official said. The vice president continued that celebrity-fueled push Friday night in Texas – a rare visit to a state that is not a presidential battleground. The Madison Square Garden rally will be one of the most-covered moments of the race – with media coverage reaching into all seven swing states.
