None of the top five fantasy players coming into the season based on average draft position is in the top 48 in fantasy scoring. Aaron Jones (15.7 fantasy ppg) has been a good pick but left early Sunday with a hip injury. The only bright spot for Las Vegas is rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who is 76th in fantasy scoring (13.3). Brian Thomas Jr. is 35th in fantasy scoring (16.2 ppg), which is second-best among rookie wide receivers behind only Malik Nabers.

“Joker: Folie à Deux,” a genre-bending sequel to the billion-dollar comic book smash, hit a sour note at the box office even as it opened to No. That’s a problem because the R-rated sequel carries a substantial $200 million price tag (the first film was produced for a trim $65 million). So, “Folie à Deux” needs to generate at least $450 million to break even, according to sources familiar with the film’s financials. Muted buzz for “Folie à Deux” began at Venice Film Festival, where “Joker” took home the fest’s top prize in 2019. PALM DESERT, Calif. — LeBron James and his son, Bronny, made NBA history Sunday night when they played together for the first time during the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason game against Phoenix. LeBron and Bronny are the first father and son to play in any NBA game at the same time, let alone on the same team. Bronny James entered the game as a substitute to begin the second quarter, joining his father on the court out of the timeout. LeBron James is beginning his record-tying 22nd season in the NBA, while LeBron James Jr. — known to all as Bronny — was the Lakers’ second-round draft pick this summer. LeBron sat out of the Lakers’ preseason opener against Minnesota last Friday night, resting up after a full week of training camp following a busy summer.

In Week 5, scoring returned — and, in several cases, it happened in some of the oddest and most unexpected ways. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ Tank Bigsby was first hit 14 yards from the end zone by one Indianapolis Colts tackler and appeared to be wrapped up by another at the 11. Yet, with two teammates pushing him forward, he wound up with a touchdown instead of a short gain, a score that became part of Jacksonville’s first victory. Two minutes before halftime, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love dropped back into his end zone and was shoved with two hands — but not sacked for a safety — by a chasing Rams defender. Officially, he went 101 yards, 18 yards longer than Seattle’s previous franchise record for a fumble return.

The Panthers are a lowly 1-4, and their defense remains one of the worst against the pass in the NFL. CNN —When the Philadelphia Phillies won the National League (NL) East for the fifth year in a row in 2011, they probably did not expect to have to wait too much longer for their next division title. Fast-forward to Monday night and the Phillies have clinched their first NL East crown in 13 years with a 6-2 win over the Chicago Cubs at Citizens Bank Park. Only the Los Angeles Dodgers (93-63) have a better record in MLB this season than the Phillies (93-64). “This is what you work for all year,” two-time NL MVP Bryce Harper told NBC Sports Philadelphia from a raucous locker room. The winless Carolina Panthers benched struggling quarterback Bryce Young, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, in favor of veteran Andy Dalton, the team announced Monday. “This is the best decision for our group, our team, going forward,” Canales said Monday.
