NANDED, India, Oct 3 (Reuters) - Twelve infants died in one day at a hospital in the Indian state of Maharashtra, sparking a political storm on Tuesday with opposition politicians accusing the regional government and hospital authorities of negligence. "My brother's one-day old infant died on Sunday at the hospital, and he was the fifth baby to die. We saw four more babies die in front of us," said Yogesh Solanki, whose family brought the baby to the hospital. CNN —A fire at a wedding in northern Iraq has killed at least 100 people and injured 150 others, according to the Iraqi state news agency INA citing local authorities. The disaster in the Hamdaniya district of northeast Nineveh governorate, was set off by fireworks, candles, and other materials used during the wedding celebration, the Iraqi Civil Defense said. Nineveh governor Najm Al-Jubouri told the Iraqi state news agency INA that the injured were transferred to hospitals in Nineveh and the Kurdistan region. Videos from the scene show thick smoke billowing out of the at the Al Haytham Wedding Hall while crowds and ambulances gather outside. WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military said Monday it had captured an operator for the Islamic State extremist group during a helicopter raid in northern Syria. NEW DELHI, July 20 (Reuters) - A New Delhi court on Thursday extended the bail granted to the chief of India’s wrestling federation who has been accused of sexually harassing female wrestlers, Reuters' TV partner ANI reported. Brij Bhushan Singh, chief of Wrestling Federation of India, who is also a federal lawmaker from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party, was granted interim bail for two days on Tuesday, which has now been converted to regular bail. "The court imposed several conditions while granting bail," ANI reported, including that the accused will not "directly or indirectly" induce complainants or witnesses, and will not leave the country without the court's permission. The next hearing in the case will take place on July 28, ANI reported. Six female wrestlers lodged a complaint against Singh for alleged sexual harassment and intimidation during training camps and international competitions.
