The urgent warning covers various 2001-2003 model year Honda Accord, Civic CR-V and Odyssey, Pilot and Acura 3.2CL and 3.2 TL vehicles with so-called "Alpha" inflators. More than 30 deaths worldwide - including at least 23 U.S. fatalities - and hundreds of injuries in various automakers' vehicles since 2009 are linked to Takata air bag inflators that can explode, unleashing potentially deadly metal shrapnel inside vehicles. NHTSA said last month a February death of the driver of a 2002 Accord in Bowling Green, Kentucky, was due to a faulty air bag inflator. Police in Colorado arrested a man in connection to a shooting that left a 12-year-old dead and a 14-year-old injured on Saturday. Rolando Felipe, 18, was arrested Saturday night at around 10:30p.m. The 12-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later while the 14-year-old "remains hospitalized with serious injuries." Later that night, Felipe, who is known to the victims, was arrested by the police department. Charges against Felipe will be filed with the Arapahoe County 18th Judicial District, who did not immediately return requests for comment.

CNN —Honda and South Korean battery maker LG Energy Solutions are investing $3.5 billion to build a joint venture battery factory in southern Ohio, the car company said Tuesday. Construction on the battery plant is expected to begin early next year and should be completed by the end of 2024. At the Marysville plant, battery cells from the Fayette County battery factory will be installed in the battery cases made in Anna. The Marysville factory opened in 1982 and was Honda’s first auto factory in the United States. Honda now has 18 factories producing Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States.
