June 12 (Reuters) - Intel (INTC.O) is in talks with SoftBank Group Corp's (9984.T) Arm to be an anchor investor in the chip designer's initial public offering (IPO), a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Monday. Arm plans to sell its shares on Nasdaq later this year, seeking to raise $8-$10 billion, Reuters reported earlier in April. A new movement to create “menopause-friendly workplaces” is catching on, beginning in Britain, where menopausal women are believed to be the fastest growing work force demographic. More than 50 British organizations, including HSBC UK, Unilever UK, and the soccer club West Ham United, are now are certified as “menopause-friendly” though an accreditation developed by Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, a British professional training firm. One recent poll estimated that three in 10 workplaces in Britain now have some kind of menopause policy in place. There is even an awards ceremony, held in London, for the most menopause-friendly companies. New York City Mayor Eric Adams promised earlier this year “to change the stigma around menopause in this city,” and to “create more menopause-friendly workplaces for our city workers through improving policies and our buildings.”
There always seems to be this invisible fence between us, even though I’m an only child, her only daughter. You know how sometimes you remember the wise thing your parents said to you when you were a kid? To me, this meant I’d better have a well-paying career so I wouldn’t end up a housewife like her. In her short film “Semiotics of the Kitchen,” Martha Rosler shifted the traditional language around the kitchen to something violent, frustrating and radical. And because of how I grew up, the kitchen has always been a frustrating space that I refused to enter.

March 14 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve is considering tougher rules and oversight for midsize banks similar in size to Silicon Valley Bank (SIVB.O), which collapsed suddenly last week, according to a source familiar with the matter. Now, a review of the $209 billion bank's failure being conducted by Fed Vice Chair for Supervision Michael Barr could lead to strengthened rules on banks in the $100 billion to $250 billion range, the source told Reuters. That review of Fed supervision and regulation of the bank will be released by May 1, and augments a review of bank capital rules by Barr already underway. All those requirements could be reworked by the Fed in the aftermath of the collapse, which has also spurred fresh calls from proponents of tougher rules for regulators to rebuild those restrictions. On Tuesday, 50 Democratic lawmakers, including Senator Elizabeth Warren, introduced a bill to repeal the law that eased rules for banks in 2018.
March 14 (Reuters) - U.S. Federal Reserve is reconsidering its regulations regarding midsize banks which could potentially mean expansion of existing restrictions that currently only affect larger Wall Street firms, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. Regulators were forced to announce relief measures on Sunday, reassuring customers that all the deposits from both the banks would be covered. The Fed also announced a new facility to give banks access to emergency funds, in a bid to calm broader fears in the market. According to the newspaper, the revised rules could target firms with between $100 billion to $250 billion in assets. The Federal Reserve did not immediately respond to Reuters request for comment.
