Hong Kong/New York CNN —Boeing has delivered its first 737 Max to a Chinese airline for the first time in nearly five years, according to flight data, in a rare spot of good news for the embattled company. According to flight tracking website Flightradar 24, China Southern Airlines flight CZ5073 departed from Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington, on Wednesday for China via Honolulu. The use of the airline’s flight number, instead of a Boeing one, suggests the ownership of the plane has already been transferred. The plane, a 737 Max 8 according to flight data, was built in September 2019 and has been parked in Boeing’s Seattle factory since then, according to flight tracking sites Flightradar 24 and Aviation Flights. Paris CNN —A 64-year-old French pilot has been given a one-year suspended prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter after being found guilty of killing a skydiver with his plane’s wing during a jump, a criminal court in Montauban, southern France, confirmed to CNN Thursday. “A collision occurred between the first wingsuit skydiver and the aircraft’s left wing, a few seconds after he jumped out of the plane. Paris CNN —Since being launched in 2007, Paris’ public Vélib’ rental bikes have proven a hit with tourists and locals as a trouble-free way to get around the French capital, especially in summer when Metro trains are hot and crowded. In recent weeks, activists have turned some Vélib’ cycles into billboards featuring unexpected messages from a guerrilla advertising campaign opposing abortion rights. The people who put up these stickers “would be overjoyed to revisit abortion rights,” Rotjman, a feminist campaigner since 1974, told CNN. Calls for justiceVélib' rental bikes have proved hugely popular with locals and tourists since their 2007 launch. Vélib’ has yet to confirm how many bikes are impacted and when they will be restored.

CNN —At least 20 people have been killed and several others injured in a “horrific” school dormitory fire in the South American country of Guyana, officials said on Monday. “It is with great sadness that we bring to you a heart-wrenching update on the fire at the dormitory at the Mahdia Secondary school” in central Guyana, a Department of Public Information statement said. The Guyanese government earlier mobilized a “full-scale medical evacuation-supported response” after the fire broke out. The Mahdia Secondary School Dormitory, where the fire happened, is at the center of the Guyanese government’s push to improve the education level in the less developed part of the country. In previous government statements, they describe the construction of the school dormitory as an effort to “bridge the gaps between the hinterland and coastal areas.”This is a developing story.
