A suspect in the killing of a man whose death in Montana was initially thought to have been caused by a bear is in custody, the Gallatin County sheriff said Wednesday. The suspect in the death of Dustin Kjersem, whose body was found in a remote area on Oct. 12, was not immediately released. Gallatin County Sheriff's OfficeThe suspect acted alone and there is no threat to the community, Springer said. The attack was described as "vicious," and Kjersem died after sustaining “multiple chop wounds,” according to his autopsy, Gallatin County sheriff's Capt. Biden mentioned Puerto Rico, slandered as a “floating island of garbage” by a comedian at Trump’s event on Sunday night. “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said, pausing for a moment before continuing. On Wednesday, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said "there is evidence" that North Korean troops were training in Russia. Scattered reports have claimed that smaller numbers of North Korean troops are already in Ukraine. Apple first showed off the Apple Vision Pro in June 2023, hoping developers would build awesome apps for it when it went on sale in January. Specifically: Where are the apps for the Apple Vision Pro, the $3,500 headset Apple introduced earlier this year? This is a question we've asked repeatedly, and the answer seems to be pretty consistent: Developers aren't leaping to build anything for Apple Vision Pro because they don't think many people are using Apple Vision Pro. But if developers don't build for the Apple Vision Pro, then there's never going to be any reason for people to buy an Apple Vision Pro. Overall, there are about 1,770 apps for the Vision Pro in Apple's App Store , according to Appfigures' count.

CNN —A record number of early votes have been cast in Georgia on Tuesday as residents headed to the polls in a critical battleground state that is grappling with the fallout from Hurricane Helene and controversial election administration changes that have spurred a flurry of lawsuits. More than 300,000 ballots were cast Tuesday, Gabe Sterling of the Georgia secretary of state’s office said on X. Georgia election officials say absentee ballots went out by the US Postal Service as scheduled and were not impacted by the storm. It’s also possible that the state could continue to see high numbers of early votes given that Georgia law now mandates two Saturdays of early voting and allows for two Sundays of early voting if a county desires. Legal fights continueMeanwhile, state judges are scrutinizing a number of new rules passed by the Trump-backed Republican majority on the State Election Board that Democrats warn could inject post-election “chaos” into the Georgia.

In a fact-bending blast of disinformation, the former president is charging Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden’s White House of the very transgressions of which he stands accused. This is false, but Trump, while president, did repurpose FEMA funds to help finance his hardline immigration policies. But in retrospect, the charade featuring his first White House press secretary Sean Spicer was a harbinger of an administration that bucked fact as an instrument of political power. Trump voters respond to his populism and his evisceration of elites and many sincerely believe he’s a response to a march to the left by the Democratic Party. Both Trump and Harris, who are deadlocked in the polls, are chasing voters who may not habitually follow politics.

I spent some time alone after things ended, but by the end of 2012, I was ready to re-embrace online dating. Within a few years, my fellow millennials and I were reportedly spending 10 hours a week on dating apps. Increasingly, it feels like dating apps make things more monotonous and cumbersome to incentivize us to pay for upgrades. And while dating apps' cost in terms of harassment, threats, and violence is paid disproportionately by women, its financial cost is disproportionately paid by men.
