First-year Duke men's basketball player Cooper Flagg has agreed to a name, image and likeness deal with PepsiCo -owned Gatorade, according to a Tuesday announcement. As part of the deal, Gatorade will use Flagg in its marketing. Since the approval of NIL deals, college athletes have been able to capitalize on endorsement deals in ways they never could before. Players like Flagg, a highly touted prospect and likely NBA star, have been able to net NIL deals, some of them reportedly worth millions of dollars. New York CNN —Gannett, owner of the nation’s largest newspaper chain, announced that its more than 200 publications, including USA Today, will not publish presidential endorsements in the run-up to the November 5 election. The newspapers aren’t alone in declining to publish presidential endorsement in the 2024 race. “Until now.”In 2020, USA Today again broke with its own tradition, this time offering its first full-throated endorsement for Joe Biden’s candidacy. David Mastio, who was part of the USA Today opinion team that published the 2020 endorsement of Biden, called the decision deeply disappointing. “I am deeply disappointed that USA TODAY has lost its voice at this critical time for our country.”

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.— Despite calls to consider retirement, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned to the football field Sunday, playing his first game since he sustained the third concussion of his professional career last month. The crowd erupted into cheers, chanting, "Tua, Tua, Tua!" Tagovailoa told reporters last week he opted not to wear a Guardian Cap, saying it was a "personal choice." The NFL’s top doctor said Tagovailoa would gain minimal benefit because he already wears a newer, more protective helmet. Another fan, Brandon Derber, said, "If he wants to keep playing football, he should keep playing football, so, and I think honestly the way he's acting, he wants to perform pretty well."

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has cleared the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol and will start Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Friday. Tagovailoa has not played since Week 2 after he suffered a concussion in a Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills. Sunday’s game against the Cardinals will mark 45 days since Tagovailoa sustained the concussion, at least the third of his professional career. In his two appearances this season, Tagovailoa completed 40 of 62 passes for 483 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. In July, Miami signed Tagovailoa, the fifth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, to a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with $167.1 million guaranteed.

CNN —Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been cleared from concussion protocol and is set to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Friday, emphasizing that medical experts have expressed support for the star to return. He had been placed on the injured reserve list and was eligible to return to play this week provided he cleared protocol. The Dolphins went 1-3 without their signal caller, as the offense averaged a league-low 8.75 points per game during his absence. McDaniel was asked Wednesday why Tagovailoa was placed on the injured reserve list if the quarterback said he was symptom-free. That’s it.”A day before Friday’s announcement that Tagovailoa had been cleared, Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith was asked about how the 26-year-old quarterback’s return would help in his job.

CNN —Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering another concussion in the game against the Buffalo Bills last month. Dolphins’ star wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, was very excited, saying having Tagovailoa back almost made him cry. “Just having him in the lineup, having him call the plays, having him direct the offense, just hearing his voice. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel was asked before practice Wednesday why Tagovailoa was placed on the reserve/Injured list if the quarterback said he was symptom-free. “During this stretch where he hasn’t been on the field, he’s in a more powerful place with the team,” McDaniel said.

The natural gas liquids midstream space is "relatively defensive," she added. Here are a few of the stocks that Salisbury's team highlighted with buy recommendations. "Even in softening oil environment, still surprisingly cheap compared to how much cash could be paid out if capex/acquisitions ever slow even a little bit," Salisbury's team noted. Finally, Bank of America called out Kinder Morgan , saying it is among the "key beneficiaries of long-term U.S. gas demand inflection in 2025." As gas demand rises, Bank of America sees a positive catalyst for brownfield gas pipelines — as in, pipelines that are already part of an existing facility, rather than those that are newly built.

Like many baseball stadiums around the country, Tropicana Field's geographic location makes it vulnerable to hurricane winds or tornado-force winds, hail, storm surge and flooding. NFL stadiums could experience $11 billion in climate-related losses by 2050, according to a new report released by the climate risk analysis company, Climate X. Climate X said it's a wake-up call for state and local governments. If you had a problem there yesterday, that doesn't mean that it's going to be there tomorrow," said Kamil Kluza, co-founder of Climate X. The risks from changing weather patterns go far beyond hurricane winds and flooding.

Pretty much since they arrived, Mr. Muir and his family have been trying and failing to find a single-family house for no more than $500,000. “I’m like, ‘Wow, I thought this would be a more affordable place to live,’” said Mr. Muir, who is 44 and works in financial services. They disagree, however, about whether Ms. Harris’s plan would actually do that. (Economists also agree that former President Donald J. Trump’s housing plan, which aims to free up housing by deporting immigrants, would probably make the housing crisis worse by devastating the construction work force). Ms. Harris’s main challenge will be convincing them to build.

New York CNN —Fox News anchor Bret Baier is all too keenly aware that Fox’s viewers want him to affirm what they already feel. And his recent social media activity shows that he is supremely aware of the Fox base’s extreme disdain for Harris and distrust of the media. Baier, the anchor of Fox’s 6 p.m. “Special Report” newscast, is also the network’s chief political anchor. But because the Arizona call presaged Trump’s defeat, Fox was scolded and second-guessed by many of its own viewers, including the sitting president. One X user told Baier they believed that the interview will “be pre recorded and the answers will be edited.

There is no indication that the officers knew McAlpin was deaf or had cerebral palsy before his arrest. Harris’ body camera video shows him attempting to arrest McAlpin within seconds of exiting his vehicle. Harris tells Sue, “I think I broke my hand” and Harris says McAlpin had bitten him, the body camera video shows. Much of the interaction is captured on Harris’ body camera. McAlpin's wife arrives on the scene minutes later and tells the officers that he is deaf and has cerebral palsy, the body camera video shows.

Earlier this month, Kory Langhofer resigned as the chief legal counsel for former President Donald Trump's and the Republican National Committee’s “election integrity” operation in Arizona. “There’s just a perception that [Republican lawyers] are not doing enough proactively,” a second lawyer said about staving off supposed fraud. “Is it possible we are all being gaslit by the @gop regarding a fake ‘Election Integrity’ program that doesn’t actually exist?” Wren wrote in the post. Harmeet Dhillon, attorney and member of the Republican National Committee, will oversee the GOP's legal efforts around the election in Arizona. “We are full steam ahead in our unprecedented dedication to Election Integrity,” she added.
