Several people, including children and college students, have reported receiving racist text messages from unrecognized phone numbers in recent days. CNN has reached out to state officials for additional information on the text messages. “My initial reaction was probably like disbelief, like I thought it was like a joke,” said Jones, who forwarded the text message to her loved ones. “I feel like it’s a spam message (and) I do feel disappointed about the message they’re sending a day after the election,” Burwell said. Trump’s Hispanic vote percentage beat the previous record, set by George W. Bush's in 2004, when Bush won as much as 44% of the Hispanic vote. President-elect Donald Trump is returning to the White House , and shares of regional banks are surging on his Election Day victory. Western Alliance Bancorp turned up on the list, with a dividend yield of 1.8% as of Tuesday's close. BPOP YTD mountain Popular shares in 2024 Provident Financial Services turned up on CNBC Pro's screen. Provident posted a profit of 36 cents per share, versus analysts' call for 47 cents a share, per FactSet. Shares are up more than 21% in 2024, and as of Tuesday's close, it had a dividend yield of 5%.

Rudy Giuliani has yet to surrender any of the valuables he was ordered to turn over to the two election workers he defamed, their lawyers say — including the Mercedes he was spotted riding around in Tuesday in Palm Beach, Florida. That includes some of Giuliani's prized Yankees memorabilia, including a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey and an autographed Reggie Jackson picture. Citing Nathan's allegations, Liman on Tuesday ordered Giuliani to appear before him in New York on Thursday, and rejected a request from Giuliani's lawyer that the hearing be held remotely or in-person next week. He also said that Freeman and Moss were trying to leave the former New York City mayor "penniless and homeless," and that Giuliani wasn't being evasive. "Mayor Giuliani has made available his property and possessions as ordered.

Pawtucket, Rhode Island AP —For several decades, the cremated remains of more than two dozen American Civil War veterans languished in storage facilities at a funeral home and cemetery in Seattle. The simple copper and cardboard urns gathering dust on shelves only had the name of each of the 28 soldiers – but nothing linking them to the Civil War. While some remains are hidden away in funeral homes, others were found where they fell in battle or by Civil War re-enactors combing old graveyards. The remains of several more Civil War veterans were sent to Maine, Rhode Island and other places where family connections were found. Bruce Frail and his son Ben – both long active in the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War – were on hand for service.
