CNN —Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday claimed two Pennsylvania counties are experiencing voter fraud despite both officials there maintaining they’re still investigating potential issues related to voter registration applications. “This on top of Lancaster County being caught with 2600 Fake Ballots and Forms, all written by the same person. While announcing the suspected fraud, Lancaster officials said at least two other counties may have also received fraudulent voter registration applications. On Tuesday, York County spokesperson Greg Monskie would not confirm to CNN whether it had received fraudulent voter registration applications and couldn’t speak to any connection with the issues alleged in Lancaster County. The interaction took place at the Voter Service Center in Media, Pennsylvania, the seat of the suburban Philadelphia county.

The Commerce Department is expected to report Wednesday that gross domestic product grew at a hardy 3.1% annualized pace in the third quarter, adjusted for seasonality and inflation, according to the Dow Jones consensus forecast. Along with that, the release is expected to show that inflation moved closer or perhaps even below the Federal Reserve's 2% target. The Fed uses the personal consumption expenditures price index, included in the GDP estimate, as its primary inflation gauge. The report, then, should indicate a solid economy and easing inflation , the latter at least on a relative basis from how things looked a year ago. CNN —US intelligence has assessed that Russian operatives were behind a fake video purporting to show someone destroying mail-in ballots in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, that circulated on social media Thursday. CNN reported earlier Friday that US investigators suspected that Russian operatives were behind the fake video, according to two sources briefed on the matter. The Board of Elections in Bucks County, north of Philadelphia, was quick to debunk the video on Thursday. But the video was hatched by Russian operatives, according to Darren Linvill, an expert on Russian disinformation campaigns at Clemson University. Russian operatives have tried to denigrate Harris’ campaign, Iranians have tried to undercut Trump’s, while China has largely focused on down-ballot races.

An army of political propaganda accounts powered by artificial intelligence posed as real people on X to argue in favor of Republican candidates and causes, according to a research report out of Clemson University. The network identified by the Clemson researchers included at least 686 identified X accounts that have posted more than 130,000 times since January. Many of the accounts were removed from X after NBC News emailed the platform for comment. In Arizona’s Republican congressional primary, the accounts supported Blake Masters over Abraham Hamadeh. A search on X for that hashtag shows only one other tweet, from 2018, has used it.

The firm initiated coverage of the banking stock with a buy rating and a 290 pence per share price target on Tuesday. Goldman analyst Chris Hallam forecasts that Barclays could grow its earnings per share twice as fast as peer firms through 2027, while a steep discount on the stock gives investors an attractive entry point. ""The Investment Bank [portion of Barclays' business] is at-scale but currently under-earning," Hallam said. Hallam noted Barclays stock currently trades at roughly six times its 12-month forward price-to-earnings ratio, compared to the wider group of banks covered by Goldman that trade at seven times forward P/E.
