Nikki Haley said Tuesday that she is releasing her delegates to the Republican National Convention and urging them to support former President Donald Trump. I encourage my delegates to support Donald Trump next week in Milwaukee.”The move, which was first reported by Politico, comes after Haley made clear in a May speech that she would vote for Trump, despite their acrimonious differences the emerged during the Republican presidential primary. Haley is not planning on attending the convention in Milwaukee, aides said. She’s made it clear she’s voting for him and wishes him the best.”According to CNN’s delegate estimate, Haley earned 95 delegates during the primary process. However, due to state party rules, delegate estimates don’t always translate directly to how delegates vote during the roll call at the convention.

They are lawyers and school board members, labor activists and faith leaders, lifelong Democrats and party newcomers. These are the people who make up the 3,939 delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Some are elected, and some are selected — each state party has its own rules — for what is normally a ceremonial task: nominating their candidate for president. But in a — still unlikely — scenario that President Biden steps down as the nominee, they will suddenly be charged with picking a new nominee. Most of these delegates did not set out to become kingmakers in the Democratic Party, but rather to be part of a pro-Biden slate pledging support to the president.

Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford said he’ll take the issue to the state Supreme Court after Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus ruled that Las Vegas was the wrong venue for the case. “They’re done,” said Margaret McLetchie, attorney for Clark County Republican Party chairman Jesse Law, one of the defendants in the case. The state Republican Party issued a statement welcoming the court decision, pointing to Ford’s vow to appeal and asking for contributions to continue the court fight. Chattah ran as a Republican in 2022 for state attorney general and lost to Ford by just under 8% of the vote. Also, unlike other states, Nevada did not have a legal challenge pending in courts at the time.

In South Dakota, national Democrats are investing $70,000 in a critical voter registration program to boost turnout among Native Americans. The DNC is also investing additional money for state parties in Colorado, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Washington State. Read previewTwo years ago, the University of Georgia football icon and then-Senate candidate Herschel Walker was seen by many Republicans as a future star in the party. Walker, running against Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in the Georgia Senate race, won over many establishment politicians. Walker previously contributed $100,000 to the National Republican Senate Committee for a recount fund, and he also gave roughly $400,000 to charities, according to Politico. Brian Kemp — a conservative who clashed with Trump-aligned figures over the 2020 election — has largely bypassed the state party by utilizing his own political committee to fundraise. But Biden is eager to hold Georgia, as his 2020 win in the state was one of the biggest electoral triumphs for Democrats that year.

The annual Texas Republican Convention started Thursday in San Antonio, and culminated with George's election as party chair. Verizon , Comcast and Union Pacific sponsored the 2020 Texas Republican convention, according to The Texas Tribune. Pepsi and Chevron were sponsors of the 2022 Texas Republican convention, but they are not backing this year's event. The fight over corporate money also bubbled up in the election that George won on Friday, to lead the state party. This team "wears that as a badge of honor," he said, before the new chair of the state party was elected.

The last GOP presidential nominee to win Nevada was George W. Bush in November 2004 — nearly 20 years ago. Biden will have to work hard to address some of the top concerns of Nevada voters: inflation, housing affordability, and health care. A plurality of Nevada voters (22%) listed the economy as their top issue, and a whopping 82% of voters said that the economy was "only fair" or "poor." Only 17% of Nevada voters rated the economy as "good" or "excellent." And by a 61% to 32% margin, Nevada voters believe Trump would be better at handling the economy.

Cardboard stands with the AfD logo lie on the chairs in the Wiesenhalle before the start of the AfD Brandenburg state party conference. Traditionally, young voters are seen as more left-leaning, but the voting data suggests some divergences, with experts pointing to social media and what they describe as online echo chambers. A study published earlier this month showed that over half of those aged 14-29 in Germany use social media to stay updated about news and politics. But Berendsen told CNBC that it is one of the social media platforms where the tunnel-effect can be an issue. An AfD spokesperson confirmed to CNBC that its videos and texts posted on social media are tailored to young people.

On a Monday in mid-March, the Wisconsin Republican Party gathered about 50 conservative activists on a Zoom call to train them in how to become poll workers, helping oversee and monitor the casting and counting of votes. Heavily Democratic areas of the battleground state were a key focus. “Eau Claire, Madison, Milwaukee — that type,” Mike Hoffman, the state party’s election integrity director, said as he ticked off places being targeted. “We’re keeping a close eye on you,” he recounted telling one city clerk, according to audio recordings of the party’s training sessions obtained by The New York Times. They will focus on every aspect of voting, including mail ballots, voting machines and post-Election Day recounts and audits.

The chairman of the Nevada Republican Party has been indicted. In Michigan, a former co-chairwoman of the state party is facing charges. The investigations focus largely on the plan to deploy fake electors in states that Mr. Trump lost. Documents emerging from the state cases highlight divisions among Trump advisers after the 2020 election about whether to use hedging language in the phony certificates that they sent to Washington purporting to designate electoral votes for Mr. Trump. They also undercut claims by some Trump aides that they played little role in the fake-electors plan.

The visits come amid a notable lull in Trump’s campaign activity in the weeks since he became the presumptive GOP presidential nominee. Along with Pennsylvania, Trump’s stunning 2016 victories in Michigan and Wisconsin produced a seismic crack in the so-called blue wall of states Democrats had relied on in every election going back to 1992. Early polls suggest Michigan and Wisconsin pose a challenge for Biden and an opportunity for Trump to mine for electoral votes in the upper Midwest. The former president attacked Wisconsin State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos in 2022 for refusing to decertify the state’s presidential result, which he did not have the power to do. However, Trump’s campaign has yet to air a single ad in the state.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — President Joe Biden has won North Dakota's Democratic presidential primary. The state party on Saturday announced the results of the mostly mail-in primary. Former President Donald Trump won the North Dakota Republican Party's March 4 presidential caucuses, taking all 29 delegates. Biden and Trump have already secured enough delegates for their parties' nominations, lining up the first presidential rematch election since 1956. Sen. Bernie Sanders won the North Dakota Democratic caucuses in 2016 and 2020.

The highest level of contributions to the Trump 47 Committee – as the joint fundraising committee is known – is called “Ultra MAGA” and is designated for individuals who donate $814,600, the current limit that one person can currently donate to Trump 47. A Trump campaign aide did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the fundraising levels. On Thursday, Biden was joined by two former White House occupants – Barack Obama and Bill Clinton – at a star-studded New York fundraiser that the Biden campaign said brought in more than $26 million. Donations to the Trump 47 Committee benefit Trump’s campaign; his leadership PAC, which has underwritten his legal bills; the Republican National Committee and roughly 40 state party committees. The joint fundraising committee was established earlier this month, following Trump’s takeover of the RNC.

Their November collision began to look even more likely after Mr. Trump scored a decisive win in Iowa in January. Already, Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden had shifted their focus away from the primaries. But Mr. Biden has already been using the political and financial apparatus of the Democratic National Committee. Mr. Biden is viewed unfavorably by a majority of Americans — a precarious position for a president seeking re-election — although so is Mr. Trump. Mr. Biden and his allied groups also have a significant financial advantage over Mr. Trump, whose legal bills are taking a toll.

After the 2020 election, one story out of North Carolina had a powerful effect on Donald J. Trump. A proactive Republican, the story went, had worked behind the scenes to stop Democrats from stealing the election in the state and helped secure Mr. Trump’s victory there. That Republican was Michael Whatley, the chairman of the North Carolina G.O.P. Mr. Trump called Mr. Whatley after the election, and Mr. Whatley boasted to him about that program’s success. “That’s great,” Mr. Trump replied, as Mr. Whatley recounted the conversation in a speech to North Carolina Republicans last year.

Trump was still on top with 42%, Biden got 39%, Kennedy had 15%, West had 3% and Stein had 2%. Buzzy independent candidates have a tendency to lose support as Election Day nears.

The Republican former president was surprisingly unable to beat Haley in Vermont on Super Tuesday. Today, in state after state, there remains a large block of Republican primary voters who are expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump," Haley national spokesperson Olivia Perez-Cubas said in a statement. As it stands, Haley can still win the nomination, though it'd require handily defeating Trump in state after state, surpassing polling. Despite her win in Vermont, Haley did not give a speech Tuesday evening, while Trump gave one from Mar-a-Lago without mentioning her name once.

North Carolina, which Trump narrowly won in 2020, is emerging as a critical piece of Biden’s reelection strategy. It has been 16 years since Barack Obama delivered a North Carolina surprise in 2008. Former President Donald Trump gestures after speaking at the North Carolina Republican Party convention in Greensboro on June 10, 2023. She isn’t sure how much longer Republicans can hold the line in North Carolina. “Yes, we have had more growth in our urban communities, and it’s going to make North Carolina trend bluer in the future,” Anderson said.

Former President Donald J. Trump capped off a clean sweep of Republican delegates in Michigan on Saturday during a raucous convention, which further exposed a deep fissure in the state party that threatens to fester in one of the most important battleground states. Mr. Trump, the Republican front-runner, amassed at least 90 percent of the vote in all but one of the state’s 13 congressional districts against former Gov. Nikki Haley of South Carolina, who was ambassador to the United Nations under Mr. Trump. A simple majority was needed in each district to win its share of delegates at the caucus-style event, giving Mr. Trump 39, to go along with the 12 that he won in Michigan’s primary, which was held on Tuesday. Ms. Haley emerged from that contest with four delegates.
