Elon Musk waded into Germany’s election on Friday, expressing his support for a far-right anti-immigrant and anti-Islam party that's being monitored by the country’s domestic intelligence agency. “Only the AfD can save Germany,” the tech billionaire wrote on X, referring to the Alternative for Germany party. In September, it became the first far-right party to win the most votes in a state election since the Nazi era, when it triumphed in Thuringia. Party leader Björne Höcke has twice been found guilty by a German court of purposefully employing Nazi rhetoric. The crypto market, which was already red hot, has been on a more dramatic upswing since Trump's election win in November, which came alongside congressional victories for pro-crypto candidates. Blockchain-based payments company Ripple just launched its own stablecoin, RLUSD, and crypto custodian BitGo plans to follow. The two NASA astronauts who have been stuck on the International Space Station since their Boeing spacecraft ran into problems in June will have to remain there even longer, the agency announced Tuesday. They include NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who launched on the challenge-plagued first test flight of Boeing’s Starliner vehicle. The two originally intended to spend about a week at the space station but will wind up having lived and worked in orbit for more than nine months, including the added time for the latest delay. When the capsule launches — a mission known as Crew-10 — it is expected to carry NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov and Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi. Until then, the foursome will continue training for their mission at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, NASA said.

Now, freeze-dried mouse sperm, stored aboard the International Space Station (ISS) in a radiation protection box, could help give us a better understanding of mammals’ ability to procreate off Earth. In 1997, he and another academic developed a novel method that they used to clone the world’s first mouse from adult cells. And he and his team pioneered a freeze-drying method used to send mouse sperm to the ISS, where it was stored in a freezer for up to six years. From that study, they determined that freeze-dried sperm could stay viable for 200 years in space. When it comes to mice, the freeze-dried mouse sperm Wakayama is currently storing aboard the ISS will return to Earth in 2025 for study.

Elon Musk fixes the biggest problems at his companies every week, Marc Andreessen says. Elon Musk has built some of the world's most valuable companies, from Tesla to SpaceX. China faces a tall order in its efforts to catch up to Elon Musk's SpaceX satellite service. SpaceX's Starlink already has nearly 7,000 operational satellites in orbit and serves around 5 million customers in more than 100 countries, according to SpaceX. China is aiming for a similar scale and hopes to have around 38,000 satellites across three of its low earth orbit internet projects, known as Qianfan, Guo Wang and Honghu-3. Aside from Starlink, European-based Eutelsat OneWeb has also launched more than 630 low earth orbit, or LEO, internet satellites. Cut federal workers? The current effort, run by Ramaswamy and Musk, has made a show of eyeing the size of the federal workforce. Hold on a secIn those 40 years of explosive population, spending and debt growth, the size of the federal workforce – this is actually kind of shocking – has stayed pretty much the same, confounding the popular presumption that the number of federal workers must have skyrocketed with federal spending. In fact, the number of full-time federal workers has been relatively static, within a few hundred thousand civilians, since the 1960s. Bush administration and of the federal workforce by hundreds of thousands during the Clinton administration did not markedly change the size of the federal workforce, which has hovered within a few hundred thousand of 3 million workers for decades.
