Sept 25 (Reuters) - A Ukraine drone attack on Russia's Kursk region damaged several private houses and an administrative building, while two Ukraine-launched drones were destroyed over the Belgorod region, local governors said on Monday. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties as a result of either of the attacks, the governors said in separate statements on the Telegram messaging app. The scale of the attack on the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, was not immediately known. MOSCOW, July 14 (Reuters) - Russia accused the West on Friday of sponsoring "nuclear terrorism" after authorities said a Ukrainian drone had struck the western Russian town of Kurchatov, where a nuclear power station similar to the ill-fated Chernobyl plant is located. "A drone crashed in the town of Kurchatov overnight," Starovoit said on the Telegram messaging app. There was no immediate reaction from Ukraine, which is regularly subjected to massed Russian drone attacks and seldom comments on its own suspected drone and sabotage attacks inside Russia. "People in NATO countries should realise that their governments are sponsoring nuclear terrorism by the Kyiv regime." Russia and Ukraine have long accused each other of risking a nuclear catastrophe at another facility - the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant on Russian-controlled territory in southern Ukraine - through shelling.

Now as the founder of Russia's most powerful mercenary group, he is vying for Vladimir Putin's favour by claiming a rare battlefield win in Ukraine. Russia claimed victory on Friday after Ukraine said its forces were holding on after a 'hot' night of fighting. The defence ministry on Friday attributed victory to its airborne units, missile forces and "artillery of a grouping of Russian forces". Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the state-controlled RT channel and close to the Kremlin, thanked Prigozhin for Soledar. Despite its sometimes publicly strained ties with the Russian defence ministry, some Western military analysts suspect Wagner is closely affiliated with it.
Ukraine faced continuing missile attacks on Tuesday morning, a day after it faced an heavy barrage of missiles from Russia. On Tuesday morning, the governor of Russia's Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, said there was a "drone attack" near an airfield in the region.

On the radar, it is one mark, and in that mark there are actually five (drones)," Ihnat said. Ukraine shot down 51 Shahed-136 drones on Oct. 17-18, Ihnat said on Tuesday.
