Paris/London CNN —Just weeks after hugely disruptive protests and strikes over pension reforms in France finally died down, businesses in the country are grappling with the fallout from a week of rioting. The riots, which were sparked by the fatal shooting of a teenager by a police officer last Tuesday, have already caused more than €1 billion ($1.1 billion) worth of damage, according to a French business association, MEDEF. Protesters have looted 200 stores and destroyed 300 bank branches and 250 smaller corner shops, a MEDEF spokesperson told CNN. French President Emmanuel Macron said Tuesday that he believed the “peak” of the violence had passed, according to CNN affiliate BFMTV. Sebastien Salom-Gomis/AFP/Getty ImagesThe French government is also considering ways to help businesses most affected by the riots, BFMTV reported, citing Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire.

Middle-income households are less likely to have access to resources like Medicaid and food stamps. The report, by Drexel's Autism Institute, looked at the intersection of poverty, race, and health outcomes for autistic youth. Children with autism from middle-income households, or households at 200% to 399% of the federal poverty line, actually had the worst health outcomes out of all income classes. The first, Dr. Anderson pointed out, was that middle-income households are less likely to be eligible for Medicaid. While some states offer waivers for kids with autism from middle-income households, it's far from a universal practice.
Investment bank UBS has identified global stocks to buy in what could be a year of "slowflation" — its term for the combination of sluggish growth and sky-high inflation. The Swiss bank's strategists said they expect global growth to be a weak 2.6% in 2023, below the 50-year average of 3.5%. UBS strategists referred to this state of slow economic growth coupled with moderately high inflation as "slowflation" in a note to clients on April 18. UBS strategists identified seven distinct periods of slowflation in the U.S. since 1970, lasting an average of 12 months each on average. UBS identified stocks likely to outperform under these conditions, taking into account historical lessons learned, current earnings momentum and valuations, and the views of their stock analysts.
Disinflation could be the big surprise of 2023, according to UBS. From here, we think the pace of disinflation will also be faster than markets expect," UBS' strategist Nicolas Le Roux wrote in a Wednesday note. Here are the 10 stocks UBS noted. Netflix is positively correlated to disinflation, according to the note. Another firm that will benefit from a temporary slowing in price increases is Dollar General , which UBS says is positively correlated to disinflation.

Nov 15 (Reuters) - South Africa coach Jacques Nienaber has made several changes to his pack with the return of number eight Jasper Wiese and a new lock pairing for the autumn international test against Italy in Genoa on Saturday. He replaces Kwagga Smith, while Salmaan Moerat and Marvin Orie make up the second row with Eben Etzebeth rested on the bench and Franco Mostert moving to flank in place of Pieter-Steph du Toit. "It’s also good to have Jasper back against the physical Italian pack, and we know that Kwagga will spark something different when he takes the field. "Evan (Roos) also gets a chance off the bench and his skills will work well with Kwagga’s in the loose trio." Italy have had some past joy against the Springboks, beating them for the first time 20-18 in Florence six years ago.
Revlon creditors challenge 2020 loan transactions

If successful, their challenge could eliminate the Brandco lenders' right to claim Revlon's brands as their exclusive collateral, reducing the Brandco lenders' leverage in the bankruptcy. Both lender groups participated in a $2 billion loan that Revlon used to purchase Elizabeth Arden in 2016. Revlon and an attorney for the Brandco lenders did not immediately respond to a request for comment. When Revlon filed for bankruptcy in June, the Brandco lenders held about $1.88 billion of Revlon's $3.5 billion debt. Those transactions allowed Revlon to borrow an additional $880 million in 2020 from the Brandco lenders, according to the complaint.
