CNN —Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu won her first ever match against a top-10 player on Wednesday, upsetting Jessica Pegula in the round of 16 at the Rothesay International in Eastbourne, England. 5, saving a match point en route to a 4-6 7-6(8) 7-5 victory. Raducanu let a 5-2 lead slip in the final set but broke Pegula’s serve in the next game, before holding her nerve to serve out the match. Three beers and eight nerve-wracking holes later, the 27-year-old stamped his ticket to his first ever PGA Tour event. CNN —To the tune of a Miles Davis trumpet solo, Menno van Gorp is stepping up his training ahead of this year’s Paris Olympics. “I love to practice on jazz,” van Gorp tells CNN Sport. “I’m building here a dance studio in Rotterdam and I’m working also on the new generation here,” van Gorp explains. In order to qualify for the Games, van Gorp will hope to earn selection via the Olympic Qualifier Series in May and June. “If you want to make art,” says van Gorp, “you want to make something that’s really you – not somebody else.”
