Tesla is the world leader in electric vehicles, but it needs to diversify its lineup. If Elon Musk wants to be a top player like GM, Volkswagen, or Toyota, he needs to make cheaper cars. The Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X, which cost between $44,000 and $120,000, accounted for nearly 70% of EVs sold in the US in 2022. The Model 3 and Model Y, by far Tesla's top sellers, went on sale in 2017 and 2020, respectively. Elon Musk announced plans for a $25,000 car at a Tesla event in 2020, but the car hasn't materialized.

But if you want to take a 911 sports car off-road, Porsche has officially unveiled just the car for you. The Porsche 911 Dakar has a top speed of 150 miles an hour. There are two selectable drive modes specifically for off-asphalt use, Rallye Mode and Off-Road Mode. The 911 Dakar rides about two inches higher off the ground than a regular 911 sports car. To save more weight, the 911 Dakar has no backseats, unlike most 911 models, and it has special lightweight glass in the windows.

LISBON, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Heavy tug boats on Tuesday sprayed water on a ship off the coast of Portugal's Azore Islands which went on fire nearly a week ago carrying thousands of Porsches and Bentleys, an incident insurance experts said could result in $155 million in losses. The 22 crew members on board the ship, called the Felicity Ace, were evacuated the same day the fire broke out. Two large tug boats equipped with firefighting gear arrived from Gibraltar on Monday, and were working with another patrol boat to spray water at the Felicity Ace and cool it down, MOL said. "When conditions are safe the salvage team will board the Felicity Ace for an initial assessment," MOL added. Two other tug boats with more firefighting equipment were scheduled to arrive Feb. 23 and Feb. 26.
