A burning body was discovered in a driveway of a home in Northeast Philadelphia early Tuesday morning, as police describe the death as “suspicious.”The Philadelphia police and fire departments responded to a report of a fire in a driveway in the 8000 block of Leonard Street shortly after 3 a.m., and found a man “with severe burns laying in the driveway,” officials said in a news release. The man, whose age was not known, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:23 a.m.A gas can and struck matches were found near the body, police said. The body was taken to the medical examiner's office and the investigation is ongoing. NBC News has reached out Philadelphia medical examiner's office for comment. A fence neighboring the driveway appeared to be damaged by the fire and NBC Philadelphia reported a K-9 officer was sniffing for clues at the scene early Tuesday.

The court order specifies that Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, where Republicans argue that officials have opted to count mail-in ballots with errors on their outer envelopes, must adhere to the high court's earlier rulings, which said undated or misdated mail-in ballots should not be counted. “David McCormick and the national Republicans are working to throw out provisional ballots cast by eligible Pennsylvania voters and accepted by county boards. McCormick leads Casey by 17,408 votes with 99.7% of the vote in and 24,000 ballots still to be counted. Throughout the summer, multiple towns experienced tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service. In July, an EF2 tornado passed through Rome during a severe storm that killed one person and caused widespread damage. There are currently 13 wildfires across the state encompassing more than 5,000 acres, according to Governor Kathy Hochul’s office. An 18-year-old New York State Forest Ranger volunteer and state employee died on November 9 when a tree fell while he was responding to the wildfire in Greenwood Lake. New York City alone has experienced over 230 brush fires since October 29, according to the New York City Fire Department.
