KYIV, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Monday that his country would continue exporting grain from its Black Sea ports under a U.N. programme despite Russia's pullout because the shipments offered stability to world food markets. Russia announced on Saturday that it was suspending its role in the U.N.-backed initiative that escorts cargo ships through the Black Sea. "On our side, we are continuing with the grain initiative because we understand what we offer the world. Russia said on Monday it was "unacceptable" for shipping to pass through a Black Sea security corridor as Ukraine was using it to "conduct military operations against the Russian Federation". Prague bourse warns govt about rattling markets the way UK did

PRAGUE, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Czech politicians should avoid rattling markets the way Britain has recently, as the country discusses plans for a windfall tax, the Prague Stock Exchange's chief said on Friday, after comments from ruling party members this week sent stocks tumbling. The Czech government has been discussing imposing a windfall tax on excessive profits in the energy and banking sectors since the summer, which has weighed on markets. "Trust is the fundamental value that every capital market aims for in its investors," Prague Stock Exchange chairman Petr Koblic wrote in a commentary in financial daily Hospodarske Noviny. The Czech government is putting a windfall tax in place to fund measures such as a cap on electricity prices, aimed at easing the impact of Europe's energy crisis on its citizens. Czech Finance Minister Zbynek Stanjura said late on Wednesday the government was still "leaning" towards applying it from 2023.

REUTERS/David W CernyPRAGUE, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis's opposition ANO party won most of the country's major cities in municipal elections seen as a test for the ruling coalition's handling of the energy crisis. The opposition has been saying that the government of Prime Minister Petr Fiala has done too little too late to help the people. Among the individual parties, ANO came out behind two parties of the ruling coalition, Prime Minister Fiala's Civic Democrats, and the Christian Democrats. Regardless of the second round results, the ruling coalition will maintain its majority in the Senate.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden sat in the 14th row for the Queen's funeral on Monday. Trump mocked Biden for where he was seated, saying that he would have had a better seat. Seating arrangements seemed to prioritize Commonwealth leaders and royalty. Trump mocked Biden by posting a photograph that showed all of the assembled world leaders sitting in the abbey, with a red arrow pointing to the president towards the back. It is unclear which leaders Trump meant when he referred to "Third World countries."
