CNN —Hundreds of Israeli settlers surrounded Palestinian villages and attacked residents across the occupied West Bank, eyewitnesses told CNN, after an Israeli boy who had gone missing from a settlement was found dead. CNN —Hundreds of armed Israeli settlers stormed a village in the occupied West Bank on Friday, setting fire to several homes and cars in one of the largest attacks by settlers this year, according to Palestinian officials. According to Abu-Alia, Israeli security forces had informed Palestinian officials that the settlers were looking for an Israeli teenager who had gone missing earlier in the day. Videos obtained by CNN show parts of the village burning, with smoke billowing over several buildings and settlers lobbing rocks. Israeli settlers wearing headscarves are seen near billowing smoke. Abu-Alia told CNN settlers stole approximately 70 sheep from the Palestinian village.

A growing number of children in Gaza are dying from dehydration and malnutrition amid desperate conditions due to Israel’s throttling of aid and destruction of the besieged enclave, reinforcing the urgency of this week’s ceasefire talks. In northern Gaza, children are starving to death and others fighting for their lives as critical supplies are held up from reaching those in need. A Palestinian Ministry of Health spokesperson said Sunday the number of children who have died of dehydration and malnutrition in northern Gaza has risen to 15. CNN cannot independently confirm the deaths of the children or their causes due to the lack of international media access to wartime Gaza. One of the worst single tragedies to occur during Israel's war with Hamas took place Thursday, when scores of Palestinians were killed trying to access food aid in Gaza City. The Israeli military has given a different account of the circumstances, with their timeline directly contradicting eyewitness accounts. The conflict in Gaza began in October when the Hamas militant group launched surprise cross-border attacks into Israel, killing at least 1,200 people and taking more than 250 others hostage. Hamas said the men were Jenin Brigades fighters, an umbrella group of armed Palestinian factions in the West Bank city. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they were terrorists linked to Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and an Israeli government minister praised the operation. The disguised special forces “infiltrated the hospital individually, headed to the third floor, and assassinated the young men,” Palestinian state news agency WAFA reported, citing sources from inside the hospital.
