New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore was pulled over by Providence, R.I., police early Wednesday morning and apparently wasn’t pleased with how things went down. ET and cited for driving with an expired registration and plate cover violations, according to a Providence police report. Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo confirmed Wednesday the team is “aware of the situation” and that he spoke to Barmore earlier that morning. The defense has struggled without the 25-year-old defensive tackle this season and is allowing 358.8 yards per game, 25th in the NFL. The Patriots travel to London this week to face the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

The commissioners of MLB, MLS, the NBA, NFL, NHL, NWSL and WNBA, as well as the president of NASCAR, are the brainchildren behind a new campaign to curb hate in America. The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, founded by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, will back the campaign called “Timeout Against Hate.” Kraft met with the commissioners of the aforementioned sports leagues earlier this year to discuss a potential campaign, and they are committing $50 million to spread the message. “Why in sports do you take a timeout?,” Kraft told NBC News. Last year, Kraft met with more than 80 sports figures to discuss how sports could be used to combat hate in America. The commissioners ultimately gathered in the NFL’s “main conference room,” per Kraft.

Maye was the third overall pick in April’s NFL Draft and will be making his first career start. Maye, 22, has appeared in only one game for New England so far this season. (AP) — New England Patriots captain Jabrill Peppers was arrested over the weekend on assault, strangulation and other charges following a disturbance at a home, police said Monday. The charges allege Peppers shoved a girlfriend to the ground, shoved her head into a wall, and put his hands around her neck to strangle her. In court, Peppers’ attorney, Marc Brofsky, said evidence in the case “sheds real doubt on the allegations, including videotaped evidence.” He said Peppers agreed not to have contact with the woman.
