Follow our Olympics coverage in the lead-up to the Paris Games. The Paris Games will have more programming hours on the NBC broadcast network than any previous Olympics. NBC is upping its celebrity presence for its Olympic coverage in Paris, headlined by Snoop Dogg. “Research shows that it is a challenge to keep viewers after 10 p.m. ET,” NBC Olympics producer Rob Hyland said. NBCUniversal owns the U.S. media rights to the Olympic Games through 2032, so Paris (2024), Milan-Cortina (2026), Los Angeles (2028) and Brisbane (2032).

☆ Comcast posts mixed results, weighed down by film studio, theme parks

Comcast reported mixed results before the bell Tuesday, missing on revenue estimates due to tough year-over-year comparisons for its film studio and theme parks. The company's revenue fell nearly 3% to $29.69 billion compared to the same period last year. Revenue from the content and experiences segment, which includes the NBCUniversal TV business, theme parks and Universal Pictures, was down 7.5% to $10.06 billion. However, NBCUniversal's TV business offset the segment, posting $6.32 billion in revenue, up 2% from last year. Comcast shed 419,000 cable TV customers during the quarter.

United Parcel Service — The package delivery company plunged more than 12%, hitting a new 52-week low, after posting a miss on both top and bottom lines in the second quarter. Pentair beat expectations for the second quarter, posting earnings of $1.22 per share, excluding items, compared to the FactSet consensus estimate of $1.14 per share. NXP Semiconductors posted adjusted earnings of $3.20 per share, which was below the LSEG consensus estimate of $3.21 per share. Inter Parfums — The stock jumped more than 6% after the fragrance manufacturer posted record net sales for the second quarter. The regional bank earned $1.28 per share, above the consensus estimate of $1.10 a share from analysts polled by LSEG.
