Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has cleared the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol and will start Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Friday. Tagovailoa has not played since Week 2 after he suffered a concussion in a Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills. Sunday’s game against the Cardinals will mark 45 days since Tagovailoa sustained the concussion, at least the third of his professional career. In his two appearances this season, Tagovailoa completed 40 of 62 passes for 483 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. In July, Miami signed Tagovailoa, the fifth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, to a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with $167.1 million guaranteed.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard will be out indefinitely to start the season with right knee inflammation, reports ESPN. Leonard has not practiced with or played in any games for the Clippers during the preseason. Since then, his right knee has been a recurring issue. In 2023, Leonard missed the final three games of the Clippers’ first-round loss to the Phoenix Suns after tearing the meniscus in his right knee. The Buffalo Bills have acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a third-round pick, the teams announced Tuesday. The Browns will also receive a seventh-round pick in 2026, while the Bills acquire a sixth-round pick in 2025 in addition to Cooper. In six games so far this season, Cooper has 24 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Two of Buffalo’s top four players in receiving yards are a tight end and a running back. Tagovailoa has not played since suffering a concussion against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 12. The commissioners of MLB, MLS, the NBA, NFL, NHL, NWSL and WNBA, as well as the president of NASCAR, are the brainchildren behind a new campaign to curb hate in America. The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, founded by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, will back the campaign called “Timeout Against Hate.” Kraft met with the commissioners of the aforementioned sports leagues earlier this year to discuss a potential campaign, and they are committing $50 million to spread the message. “Why in sports do you take a timeout?,” Kraft told NBC News. Last year, Kraft met with more than 80 sports figures to discuss how sports could be used to combat hate in America. The commissioners ultimately gathered in the NFL’s “main conference room,” per Kraft.

Carr was injured in the fourth quarter of the Saints’ 26-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night.
