CNN —The Dallas Cowboys got a much-needed victory on Thursday Night Football as they edged past the New York Giants 20-15 at MetLife Stadium. The narrow win continues the Cowboys’ domination over their division rivals. Afterwards, Dallas’ franchise QB spoke of how important the victory was for ‘America’s Team.’“It was huge, absolutely,” Prescott told reporters. Aubrey converted two fourth-quarter field goals to help seal the victory against the New York Giants. The U.S. Forest Service says it will not hire seasonal employees in the next fiscal year because of expected cuts to its budget, just as fire seasons grow longer, hotter and deadlier. “As an agency, we have a responsibility to plan for the most conservative funding picture, and these actions reflect that reality,” Forest Service spokesperson Scott Owen said in a statement. Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert left the Chargers’ 20-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers early Sunday after appearing to reaggravate the high-ankle sprain that had sidelined him in practice in the days leading up to the game. Herbert did not play the entire fourth quarter as the Chargers (2-1) lost for the first time, while Pittsburgh (3-0) remained undefeated under quarterback Justin Fields. The ground game wasn’t a boost, either, with the Chargers managing only 61 yards on 20 carries. Herbert left the stadium in a walking boot. After the loss to the Steelers, Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters that going into Sunday, the team planned to remove Herbert if he showed any sign of a limp.

CNN —Colorado beat the Baylor Bears 38-31 in a thriller on Saturday after a 43-yard Hail Mary touchdown in the final seconds of regular time from the Buffaloes forced overtime. But a 58-yard touchdown pass from Sanders to Omarion Miller before halftime cut the Bears’ lead and Colorado leveled in the third quarter. Baylor regained their seven-point lead again midway through the fourth quarter after a 24-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Hal Presley. With 2:16 remaining, Sanders helped orchestrate a magical drive which culminated in the game going to overtime following the Hail Mary touchdown to Wester.
