U.S. President Joe Biden, in remarks looking beyond the war that began with an Oct. 7 attack on Israel by Palestinian Hamas militants, said on Wednesday that the future should include Israeli and Palestinian states side by side. Israel has resisted both, arguing that Hamas would only take advantage and create new threats to Gaza civilians. "We will keep striking in Gaza in order to achieve the goals of the war," Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised statement that Israel was "preparing for a ground invasion. International pressure is growing to delay any invasion of Gaza, not least because of hostages.

It was a few hours after Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7 when Halper first heard from his contacts at Magen David Adom, the country’s national ambulance and paramedic organization. They needed as many ambulances as they could get as fast as they could get them—and they knew just the person to call.

Company bosses have vowed never to hire members of a university's student groups that condemned Israel. The fallout from the Israel-Hamas war has spilled into workplaces everywhere, as top leaders of prominent companies weigh in with their views while workers complain their voices are not being heard. Starbucks filed a lawsuit to stop Starbucks Workers United from using its name and a similar logo. Workers United, the parent union of Starbucks Workers United, responded with its own lawsuit saying Starbucks defamed the union by implying it supports terrorism. Starbucks Workers United tweeted a longer message on Friday denouncing Israel’s “occupation” and “threats of genocide Palestinians face” while also condemning antisemitism and Islamophobia.

Image Source | Image Source | Getty ImagesPeople looking to help those affected by the Israel-Gaza crisis can consider donating to charities working on the ground. The folks at CharityWatch have put together a list of top-rated charities providing aid during the Israel-Gaza crisis. The list includes Doctors Without Borders, which has had medical programs in Gaza for more than 20 years, Styron said. Their list includes American Friends of Magen David Adom, known as the Israeli Red Cross, and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, which works specifically in Gaza. That can be especially true when an issue is politically-fraught, like with the Israel-Gaza crisis.

Donations purchased by a Brooklyn synagogue community to aid military and humanitarian relief efforts in Israel are seen being loaded into a car in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. October 10, 2023. Some 5.8 million Jews live in the United States, according to the Pew Research Center. While there is no sign that Israel is short on basic supplies like granola bars, the donations underscore the concern and connection Jews in the United States feel toward Israel. Elan Kornblum, the Brooklyn-based head of Great Kosher Restaurants Foodies, has turned his company's Facebook page of 91,000 members - who usually discuss favorite kosher restaurants - into a forum for coordinating Israel aid efforts. Legacy aid organizations have also leapt to raise money for lifesaving support in Israel and the Palestinian territories in the wake of the attack.

Jerusalem CNN —An Israeli man was seriously wounded and two girls were hurt in a shooting in the West Bank, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israeli emergency services said Sunday. The shooting took place in the Israeli-occupied southern West Bank, which is normally calmer than the north. Palestinian sources said Israeli troops were searching every car as they looked for the suspects, creating a traffic jam lasting at least two hours on a day when Israel and the West Bank are suffering a heatwave.
