Nobody was a bigger winner than Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong. Coinbase shares soared 31% on Wednesday, their best day on record, as investors celebrated the company's victorious efforts to get pro-crypto candidates into office. "I am so grateful to Ohioans for their resounding support in this race," Moreno said in a statement Tuesday night. "I look forward to working with the new Republican Senate majority to fix our economy, secure our border, and return to American strength at home and abroad." Former President Donald Trump arrives for his campaign rally at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in Doral, Florida, on July 9, 2024. Getting that money required him to make big promises pertaining to the crypto industry. "For too long our government has violated the cardinal rule that every bitcoiner knows by heart: Never sell your bitcoin," Trump said during his keynote speech. Trump pledged to maintain the current level of bitcoin holdings that the U.S. has amassed from seizing assets from financial criminals. "On day one, I will fire Gary Gensler," Trump said, referencing the Joe Biden-appointed SEC chairman who has taken an aggressive approach to crypto regulation.

Stand With Crypto's bus tour through five battleground states kicked off last week in Phoenix and Las Vegas. LAS VEGAS — In Nevada's 4th Congressional District, a crypto PAC spent nearly $2 million on ads this cycle to support the reelection of Steven Horsford, a Democratic congressman who's voted in favor of some major pro-crypto bills. "He's leading on jobs, bringing good paying union jobs to Nevada and rebuilding our infrastructure," one 30-second commercial says. "He capped insulin prices at $35 a month," and "worked multiple jobs to support his hard working single mother and siblings in Congress." Fairshake was the largest crypto-aligned super PAC in the 2024 election cycle, spending piles of cash to support crypto allies and vote out antagonists across the country.

Marqeta shares tumbled more than 30% in extended trading on Monday after the company issued weaker-than-expected guidance for the fourth quarter. The payment processing firm said revenue in the fourth quarter will increase 10% to 12% from a year earlier. Marqeta, which primarily functions as a card-issuing platform, attributed the guidance miss to "heightened scrutiny of the banking environment and specific customer program changes." Total processing volume of $74 billion was up more than 30% from a year earlier. The company has been trying to break into the buy now, pay later business with a recently launched product called Marqeta Flex.

"Make Bitcoin Great Again" hats displayed for sale at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, US, on Saturday, July 27, 2024. With the 2024 election hitting its homestretch, the leading pro-crypto super PAC has funneled a big chunk of its final donations to close House races as part of an effort to push candidates favorable to the group's agenda over the top. Of that sum, $20 million went to two affiliated PACs — $15 million to the Defend American Jobs PAC, a single-issue committee focused on cryptocurrency and blockchain policy that's favored Republicans, and $5 million to Protect Progress, which has only supported Democrats. Of the House donations, $6.2 million went to Democratic candidates and $2.3 million to Republicans. Crypto groups have spent over $130 million in congressional races for this year's election, including the primaries, according to FEC data.
