[1/2] Denmark's Prime Minister and head of the Social Democrats Mette Frederiksen speaks on the Workers' International Day at Arbejdermuseet (The Workers Museum) in Copenhagen, Denmark, May 1, 2023. "There is great respect in Europe for the work she has done as prime minister and for the person she is in international cooperation," he said. Frederiksen, a career politician who is also head of the Social Democratic Party, became the youngest-ever Danish prime minister in 2019. Many see her as too dominant and hungry for power," former Danish defence and justice minister Hans Engell told Reuters. When former U.S. President Donald Trump in 2019 proposed buying Greenland, a sovereign territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, Frederiksen dismissed the offer as "absurd".

The results are another boost for Novo Nordisk whose weekly Wegovy injection has transformed the weight-loss market since its U.S. launch in June 2021, capturing the attention of patients, investors and even celebrities worldwide. The Danish drugmaker said in a statement that the headline results were statistically significant and showed superior weight loss when compared to a placebo. A global launch of the oral 50 milligram (mg) semaglutide drug is contingent on portfolio prioritisations and manufacturing capacity, the company added without giving further details. The results are comparable to the company's Wegovy injection, said Martin Holst Lange, head of development at Novo Nordisk. Novo Nordisk has had supply issues and struggled to keep up with soaring U.S. demand for Wegovy.

COPENHAGEN, April 20 (Reuters) - Denmark and the Netherlands will jointly donate 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, the two countries said on Thursday. The Leopard 2A4 tanks, which will be bought from a third party and refurbished, are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2024, they said in a joint statement. "It is absolutely crucial for the hope of a peaceful and secure Europe that we do not let the Ukrainians fight the battle alone," Denmark's acting Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said. In February, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands also announced they will pool resources to restore at least 100 old Leopard 1 tanks from industry stocks and supply them to Ukraine this year and next. OSLO, March 29 (Reuters) - Sweden's foreign ministry said on Wednesday it will summon Russia's Stockholm ambassador to complain about an "attempt at interference" with the Swedish NATO application process. Sweden and Finland in 2022 both sought NATO membership shortly after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and are hoping to complete the process this year. The Russian ambassador in a statement on the embassy's web site said joining NATO made the Nordic countries "a legitimate target for Russian retaliatory measures, including those of a military nature". A Swedish foreign ministry spokesperson told Reuters the ambassador would be summoned. "The foreign ministry is summoning the Russian ambassador to protest this obvious attempt at interference," Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom separately told news agency TT.
The Swedish firm expects input costs to stabilise this year except for energy, which it expects to rise further. Rystedt said that without subsidies, energy prices would weigh even more on the group's earnings in the first quarter. Essity said it raised its prices by 13.3% on average in the fourth quarter, and would raise them further in 2023. In an interview with Reuters, Groth said Essity had lost "a few customers" due to the price increases. Essity's fourth quarter adjusted core earnings (EBITA) rose to 4.08 billion crowns, topping the 3.64 billion expected by analysts polled by Refinitiv Eikon.
The new group, whose activity portfolio now includes hydrogen storage, seats, cockpit, lighting, and pollution control, will present its medium-term strategy on Nov. 4. Koller also confirmed the group's objective of reaching 250 million euros ($244 million) in synergies and one billion euros in asset disposals, which he announced shortly after the Hella acquisition. "As for synergies, we are perfectly in line with our business plan. As for asset disposals, we are perfectly confident in our ability to deliver on this billion," he said.
