CNN —When an overwhelmed man came to a New Hampshire animal shelter last week hoping to surrender 150 mice, shelter employees were ready to assist. But now, the shelter is facing an “enormous” breeding problem, the director said – because the man didn’t have just 150 mice. “When he first arrived, he said he had 150 mice,” said Lisa Dennison, executive director of the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. “The breeding of the mice has just created this enormous problem for him,” Dennison told CNN on Sunday. “With a gestation period of just around 20 days, mice can reproduce at an alarming rate.”Staff and volunteers attend to surrendered pet mice at the New Hampshire SPCA.

Known as the “dancing mouse” due to its slippery movements in that final, fatal fight with the Imperial Japanese Navy, the destroyer USS Edsall went down off the coast of Australia in 1942, under the command of Lt. Joshua Nix. Speaking alongside Kennedy, Australia’s chief of navy, Vice Adm. Mark Hammond, said the wreck was found with the help of advanced hydrographic survey capabilities aboard naval support ship MV Stoker. “Nix’s position was hopeless from the moment Edsall was sighted,” Cox wrote. WASHINGTON — Republican senators are preparing for a robust vetting of Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald Trump's pick to lead the Justice Department, with a keen interest in details from a House Ethics Committee investigation into the former congressman from Florida. The Ethics Committee has jurisdiction only over sitting House members. Many Republican senators, including members of the GOP-led Judiciary Committee that will oversee Gaetz’s nomination for attorney general, said they'll want to see the details of the House Ethics investigation into Gaetz. But Gaetz's resignation complicates things, and the House committee hasn't indicated what it will do. Asked directly if he'd vote to confirm Gaetz, Cramer said the Florida congressman would have to make it through the Judiciary Committee first.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the Oscar-winning actress was asked about her AFI Lifetime Achievement Award’s speech in which she listed some of the filmmakers she’s worked with. “Is there anyone you have your eye on who you haven’t worked with and want to?” Kidman was asked in her interview. “I’ve always said I want to work with [Martin] Scorsese, if he does a film with women,” Kidman said. Kidman rounded her list out in the interview by mentioning her desire to work with directors Kathryn Bigelow, Spike Jonze, Paul Thomas Anderson and Michael Haneke.
