That is very scary,” one TikTok user posted to the social media platform. The issue is companies are limited by the data they collect and, in the case of Peak Design, data is voluntarily registered. Another TikTok user posted in a video, “nobody wants you to save the day.” The user questioned what information the company has access to. Peak Design added “serializing” its products allows the company to track product issues, including defects. They can just get a warrant to access the data if the company refuses to,” a TikTok user commented.

SometimesLocal law enforcement agencies across the country are responsible for investigating missing persons cases, according to McCabe. Missing persons investigations often involve forensic analysis, gathering cell phone data and requesting search warrants, he said. The family of the man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare’s CEO had reported him missing last month, and his mother told police her son could be the person seen in surveillance photos one day before his arrest, law enforcement sources told NBC News. Mangione’s mother said she last spoke to her son on July 1 and that he had been working in San Francisco, the flyer says. The killing sparked a large manhunt that included the wide distribution of surveillance photos of a person of interest, and a $60,000 reward. After the killing, a San Francisco police officer thought the images of the person of interest had similarities to the image of Mangione from the missing person report, multiple law enforcement officials said. San Francisco police contacted the FBI about the possible identity of the man in that photo, the FBI said.

Timmerman was flown out of Syria via a U.S. military helicopter. Timmerman told news outlets he had been imprisoned after he had "been reading the scripture a lot" before deciding to cross the mountains from Lebanon into Syria. An ongoing investigation leads officials to believe previously reported New Jersey sightings over the Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County and Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster were indeed drones, a senior official briefed on the drone sightings told NBC News. “The feds can’t control the air space, and yesterday my phone didn’t stop with drone sightings messages,” he said. “These are drones, unmanned aerial systems that have been used as weapons of war around the globe.”
