☆ Quiet layoffs are creeping back into the adtech industry

Adtech layoffs have continued into this summer — including at some companies that already made cuts. Ezoic, MiQ, Outbrain, and Brightcove are among the adtech companies with recent layoffs. For some adtech companies, the huge wave of layoffs that struck in 2022 and at the turn of this year wasn't the last, amid prolonged economic uncertainty and a tepid ad market. To be sure, the layoff phenomenon isn't hitting all adtech companies, and many that made cutbacks — including those listed above — are aggressively shifting priorities and have open roles listed on their websites. Adweek recently reported a marked slowdown in adtech job openings in 2023, citing recruiters and industry insiders.

Its CEO is leaving the company, most employees have either quit or been laid off, and production of new clothing is on hold, several people told Insider. Several people told Insider last year that Charnas was furious with Scanlan for keeping her in the dark about the company's struggles. Arielle Charnas recently said on Instagram that "a lot of changes had to be made" at Something Navy. (The company's founder told Insider that Package Free finally paid them this week after dodging them for a year.) Scanlan's spokesperson told Insider that a sale of Something Navy was on the horizon.

Rodgers offered no timeframe for making a decision on returning to Green Bay for the 2023 season. Six weeks passed between the Packers' final game and the declaration from Rodgers on March 8 that he was returning for the just-completed 2022 season. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Sunday night the team welcomes Rodgers back, but knows "ultimately, he will decide that."
