It was wonderful to have ‘Spider-Verse’ going on in the next room so we could point to it and say, ‘Look, they’re doing it. We can do it too, right?’”Films like “Into the Spider-Verse,” and those that have followed in its footsteps, blend animation techniques that are common in 3-D computer-generated movies with those that were commonplace in the 2-D hand-drawn animation that preceded it. It’s not just that the images are less photorealistic, the movements of the characters are as well. The results are more broadly impressionistic in the ways that Looney Tunes cartoons, Disney classics or decades of anime have been. “The Last Wish,” directed by Joel Crawford, is linked to the era of animation dominated by C.G.I.

Michael Cohen and the Trump Organization cut a deal to settle his lawsuit. It's not clear how much money the Trump Organization paid to settle the case. He alleged the Trump Organization should have covered legal fees for his role in various scandals, lawsuits, and investigations that stemmed from his work for Trump. But his son Donald Trump Jr., an executive at the Trump Organization, had agreed to show up as a witness. Cohen's lawyers argued that Trump Jr. had knowledge of the agreement between Cohen and the Trump Organization to cover legal bills, and that Trump Jr. had his own legal bills covered for some of the same investigations.

It marks the moment in June of 1865 when Union troops arrived in Texas to inform enslaved African Americans that they were free by executive decree. Though it commemorates a moment when enslaved African Americans were freed, the US is still held captive by several myths about slavery and people like Cummins. 1: African Americans were ‘freed’ after the Civil War endedThere is a popular conception that the formerly enslaved were freed after the Civil War ended. Michael Cohen's lawsuit against the Trump Organization is headed to trial in two months. His entanglement in the Stormy Daniels saga, the Mueller investigation, and more all stemmed from his former Trump Organization role, he alleges. The Trump Organization owes him $2.3 million in legal fees for all those cases and investigations, he says. The trial would also happen on the heels of a Manhattan trial, in federal court, over E. Jean Carroll's lawsuit against Trump. Attorneys for the Trump Organization and Cohen didn't immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment.

Joel Chiodi, head of documentaries and SVP of strategic development, contended that Scout's content "may not be broad, but we're enough in the mainstream, just pushing a little more."

The Grattan Institute, a think tank, estimates the critical minerals industry could add more than $400 billion to the economy by 2050, a bigger contribution than the coal industry, Australia's no.2 export, today. They want rapid action in light of new competition from the U.S., Canada and the European Union, which have laid out critical minerals strategies including billions of dollars in incentives. King said on Wednesday a critical minerals strategy would be released "soon". However the government has not said when it would deliver its national battery strategy. "The elements for an effective critical minerals strategy are in place.
Costa Rica stun Japan with late Fuller winner

Japan's historic victory over Germany in their opener coupled with Costa Rica's 7-0 drubbing by Spain cleared the way for Japan to reach the last 16 with a game to spare. Costa Rica, written off before kickoff, are now level on three points with Japan and have a chance to reach the last 16. For Costa Rica the lack of goalmouth action was probably most welcome seeing as they conceded three times in the opening half an hour against Spain. Immediately after the break Japan looked more threatening with Hidemasa Morita finally testing Keylor Navas with a stinging drive the Costa Rica keeper turned away. Kicking towards their fans, Japan began to seize control and Moriyasu made another attacking change with midfielder Kaoru Mitoma coming on for right back Miki Yamane.
Cohen, now a vocal Trump critic, said the real estate company stopped paying his bills after he began cooperating with several investigations. In a 5-0 decision, the Appellate Division in Manhattan said a trial judge erred in dismissing Cohen's lawsuit. The court said it was unclear whether Cohen's legal fees mounted because he had been a Trump Organization employee, which would entitle him to reimbursement. The fees kept growing, and the Trump Organization has paid some of them, court papers show. Michael Cohen and Justice Cohen are not related.

Playing in their sixth World Cup, Costa Rica are no longer minnows and Luis Fernando Suarez's squad will be expected to do more than just make up the numbers in the 32-team tournament. The same players also featured at the World Cup in 2018 and, although Costa Rica were eliminated in the group stage, Suarez has a core of senior men with tournament experience to count on. "I had to persuade them to stay on and play another World Cup and I'm glad I did," Suarez said. He coached Ecuador at the 2006 World Cup before leading Honduras at the 2014 edition. But Costa Rica hold a special place in his heart, which led to the Colombian renewing his contract despite interest from other teams.
A court ruling Thursday lets New York's attorney general continue to seek stiff penalties from the NRA. AG Letitia James is suing CEO Wayne LaPierre for millions in back salary; she also wants the NRA subjected to financial monitoring. "It's really just interference with his ability to do his job the way his members want him to do it, in the way his board wants him to do it," LaPierre attorney P. Kent Correll said. "You have the attorney general of a state trying to interfere with the operation of a not-for-profit organization — that happened in the '50s," Correll told the judge. The NRA is attempting to read the law "so narrowly" that no attorney general would ever be able to monitor "how funds are used by an organization such as this," the judge said.
