Bezos, who also owns the Washington Post, is the third-richest person in the world with a net worth of $119 billion, according to Forbes' rankings. It is presumed that he would be able to outbid any competitors should he decide he wants to buy the Commanders. Bezos did not submit an official bid before the late December date for the first round, the reports said.

The Chiefs sacked Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow with less than a minute left before kicker Harrison Butker sent one through the uprights. "They're a great football team," said Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Eagles.
