In June, the New York-based pharmaceutical giant stopped developing a different obesity pill, known as lotiglipron , due to concerns about liver safety. Meanwhile, Eli Lilly shares were mainly flat in afternoon trading, at around $591apiece. We lifted our Eli Lilly price target Friday to $630 per share, up from $600. Eli Lilly and Danish rival Novo Nordisk (NVO) are the two dominant players in the obesity market. The longer it takes for competitors to get to this burgeoning market, the more revenue first-movers Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk can capture.

During the Amazon Web Services cloud conference on Tuesday, Amazon unveiled upgraded AI chips, a new chatbot and an expanded partnership with Nvidia. Expanded Nvidia partnership Amazon on Tuesday outlined the details of its deepening partnership with semiconductor firm Nvidia – the global leader in the development of AI chips. Amazon's announcements involved not only Nvidia' bread-and-butter AI chips known as graphics processing units, or GPUs, but also its fast-growing – yet still underappreciated – software-and-service offerings. In general, Amazon has touted its own AI chips as being a lower-cost option for customers. Nvidia's AI hardware is known to carry a hefty price tag .

Now, with the Club holding set to report earnings, Jim Cramer wants to hear whether its AI endeavors are really on track to boost its financials. "We want to hear that numbers must be raised next year because of the new business that [Salesforce is] getting now" as a result of AI, Jim said Tuesday. It's been a year since OpenAI's ChatGPT went viral and accelerated investment into generative AI applications, which can create human-like text sentences and images in response to user queries. Since then, Salesforce and other software companies have raced to incorporate generative AI capabilities into their existing products or launch new ones all together. Still, the analysts reiterated their buy-equivalent rating on Salesforce stock and a $250-per-share price target.

The initial post-earnings decline in Zscaler (ZS) shares opened the door for investors to soon buy the cybersecurity stock, CNBC's Jim Cramer said Tuesday. "When the smoke clears ... go back in because cybersecurity is still the hottest area in the U.S. economy," Cramer said on "Squawk on the Street." Shares of Zscaler were about flat around noon ET at $191 each, well off their lows earlier in the session. However, Cramer said investors were disappointed, in part, by a 37% quarter-over-quarter decline in total billings growth. For Zscaler, Cramer said he's also looking past the billings metrics and more focused on the long-term opportunity for the company because digital security threats remain abundant.

At the same, there are three key areas aspects to Nvidia's business that are increasingly coming into focus that show the company's monstrous growth thus far still has more room to run. NVDA 1Y mountain Nvidia's stock performance over the past 12 months. Networking sales The strength in Nvidia's networking business on display in Tuesday's print underscored the company's evolution into a one-stop shop for AI computing in the data center. But its networking business — which sells communications technology to connect different parts of the data center — has become a larger piece of the puzzle. In fact, Nvidia's networking segment has now surpassed a $10 billion annualized revenue rate, the company said Tuesday.

Shares of Broadcom (AVGO) came under pressure Tuesday, as investors likely cashed in after the stock surged to an all-time high. Shares of Broadcom fell more than 1% Tuesday, to around $983.70 apiece. VMWare shares fell around 4.5% Tuesday, to $143.20 each, bringing the company's stock closer to the cash-consideration level spelled out in the merger agreement . As a result of the transaction, Jim argued investors may eventually assign a higher earnings multiple to Broadcom stock, which could help boost its price over time. CNBC's Jim Cramer on Thursday suggested investors look past the noise surrounding On Holding's latest quarterly results and pick up shares of the Swiss shoemaker. On Holding's stock price has been on a "wild ride" over the past three sessions as investors digested its financial performance in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, Cramer said. However, he stressed that Wall Street's "confusing reaction" to Tuesday's results will prove misguided over time. Overall, since Monday's close before earnings, On Holding stock has climbed 2% — roughly in line with the S&P 500 over that time. Cramer said sellers may be concerned that some of On Holding's strong third-quarter results were actually pulled in from the fourth quarter.

Oil and natural gas prices tumbled further Thursday, dragging down Club holding Coterra Energy (CTRA) and other energy stocks along the way. And in this moment, the group is out of favor amid declining oil and natural gas prices. Natural gas prices dropped more than 4% Thursday, to roughly $3.044 per million British thermal units, or MMBtu. Meanwhile, weather forecasts hold significant sway over demand for natural gas. And on Thursday, the EIA said natural gas in storage rose by 60 billion cubic feet, which was more than the market expected, according to FactSet.

"That's the sorrow of Walmart or Chevron or Palo Alto Networks and so many other companies that are victims of their own success." Additionally, Cramer said Walmart is grappling with more cautious consumers, who've seen their budgets squeezed by inflation for well over a year. Meanwhile, shares of Palo Alto Networks slid 5.4% Thursday as its earnings report from the prior evening disappointed investors. Cramer's Charitable Trust, the portfolio used by the CNBC Investing Club, owns Palo Alto shares. While Chevron and its energy peers benefited from higher oil prices last year, Cramer said the falling oil prices are a direct consequence of a slowing economy.

Wall Street expects Nvidia (NVDA) to deliver another strong quarterly report Tuesday, as its cutting-edge artificial intelligence chips remain a hot, hard-to-get commodity. The recent trading in Nvidia's stock reflects that optimism, with shares up nearly 20% in November alone. "I don't like the so-called setup," Jim Cramer said, referring to the huge run-up in shares ahead of earnings. It's one piece of evidence behind investors' belief that Nvidia's upcoming earnings report will clear the high bar that's been set. Eli Lilly (LLY) remains our favorite way to play the weight-loss drug market, despite a new entry this week from AstraZeneca (AZN). Eli Lilly shares had their worst day of the year Thursday, falling 4.5% in the session to close at $591.32. AstraZeneca's encroachment on turf currently dominated by Eli Lilly and Danish rival Novo Nordisk (NVO) may have contributed to Thursday's declines. That approval, despite being widely expected, pushed Eli Lilly to an all-time closing high Wednesday, at $619.13 per share. Our desire to own Eli Lilly over Novo Nordisk hinges, in part, on our confidence in Eli Lilly's other treatment opportunities, such as in Alzheimer's.

The multi-year deal will ultimately give Microsoft access to more of Nvidia 's (NVDA) cutting-edge AI chips, which have been in short supply since the launch of OpenAI's ChatGPT last year intensified investments in AI technology. Nvidia is the world's dominant AI chipmaker, and its processors are housed in data centers operated by Oracle, Microsoft and other cloud-computing firms. In forging close ties with Nvidia, Oracle has made its cloud-computing operations more competitive relative to larger providers like Amazon (AMZN), Microsoft and Alphabet (GOOGL). The latest Oracle-Microsoft agreement also carries positive implications for Nvidia, further illustrating just how much demand there is for Nvidia's AI chips. LLY YTD mountain Eli Lilly's year-to-date stock performance. Investors are understandably cheering the results, sending Eli Lilly shares higher by more than 4%. "Eli Lilly today is beginning its next leg of going up," Jim Cramer said during Thursday's Morning Meeting . The most important line item was Mounjaro sales, which cleared Wall Street's high bar. Excluding that divestiture and the $387 million in Covid antibody sales in the year-ago quarter, Eli Lilly's sales grew 24% on an annual basis — a highly respectable figure.

Pinterest's recent ad partnership with Amazon (AMZN) — which also is owned by Cramer's Trust — is "very smart," Cramer said. Club holding Broadcom 's (AVGO) investment prospects look bright – with or without cloud software maker VMWare (VMW) under its corporate roof. For now, though, the companies remain apart after Broadcom's planned $61 billion takeover of VMWare did not close Monday, as previously scheduled. AVGO YTD mountain Broadcom YTD With VMWare, Broadcom would be a company with sales split roughly 50-50 between its traditional semiconductor division — an artificial intelligence beneficiary — and software, which typically is higher-margin revenue. Without VMWare, Broadcom would have freed up its capacity to reward shareholders in a different, but still meaningful, way. Even with the buyback silver lining, our hope is Broadcom completes the VMWare deal because it should boost Broadcom's earnings over time.
