CNN —Americans are continuing to pile on debt at record levels — but for many households, those IOUs are completely manageable, according to new data released Wednesday. Balances grew across all major debt categories, with credit cards and auto loans continuing to see the biggest gains. However, by and large, most households have been able to handle that rising debt: Their after-tax income has grown even more, according to the New York Fed. Disposable personal income hit $21.8 trillion in the third quarter, bringing the total debt balance to income ratio to 82%. And, for 18 months running, that pay growth has outpaced inflation, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data released Wednesday.

CNN —Three people have been charged in Argentina for crimes related to the death of Liam Payne, a former member of the boyband One Direction, according to the public prosecutor’s office. The British pop star, who was 31, died on October 16 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The late singer had alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his system before his death, according to the prosecutor’s statement. AWS CEO Matt Garman has been sent a letter from employees protesting his pro-RTO comments. Over 500 employees have signed a letter, sent on Wednesday, urging Garman to reconsider the plans. The policy is stricter than at Amazon's peer companies and, by some accounts, stricter than Amazon's office work policy before the pandemic. The letter has been signed by 523 staff from Amazon and AWS, with 172 of those including their names.
