And the legal challenges could continue for weeks or months to come. The legal team also relies on a team of advisers, including longtime Biden lawyer Bob Bauer, who advises on litigation strategy and voter protection, and former US Solicitors General Don Verrilli and Seth Waxman. In addition, the Harris legal team is supported by a “field counsel” program that coordinates with local firms in each state that can provide specialized knowledge about election law and procedures in each jurisdiction. Sources close to the Trump legal team say they have not only focused on recruiting legal firepower but on identifying viable legal challenges. “What we have to do is protect every voter and every vote, which is what we’re doing,” said Remus, of the Harris legal team.

Kamala Harris has stepped up her attacks on Donald Trump, echoing John Kelly's view that he's "a fascist." Harris and her allies have seized on former White House chief of staff John Kelly calling Donald Trump a "fascist." NEWThe Kamala Harris campaign has released a new ad featuring audio from General John Kelly’s interview with the New York Times. Addressing concerns that she's making the wrong closing argument, Harris told reporters on Friday that voters can process multiple things simultaneously. The U.S. Army on Friday released a heavily redacted copy of a police report stemming from an August incident in which a staffer from former President Donald Trump’s campaign allegedly pushed an Arlington National Cemetery worker. A Trump campaign spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday night on the Army documents. Arlington National Cemetery released a statement at the time pointing to a federal law barring political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, including the use of photographers. An Army spokesperson also said in August that the Trump campaign aide had “abruptly pushed aside” a cemetery employee who was trying to enforce restrictions on taking photos and video in that area. Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung previously denied elements of the incident, saying that there “was no physical altercation as described,” and that an unnamed person “decided to physically block” members of Trump’s team.

The 2020 campaign may have also suffered from a lack of imagination about how big the turnout would be and what Democrats were doing in the courts to expand the vote, a Trump campaign adviser said. Other familiar names from 2020 election lawsuits have been spotted this year too. One is Karen DiSalvo, who after the 2020 election helped force an audit in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The RNC and Trump campaign have focused what they call their election integrity effort on 18 states including the key swing states. An RNC lawsuit in Michigan challenging voter registration procedures is one of the cases the firm has worked on.

CNN —Republican women can vote for Kamala Harris — and they don’t need to tell anyone about it. Such voters need to be approached gently since she’s asking dissident Republican voters to shelve some of their most cherished political positions. Cheney’s appearances with Harris came as the vice president seeks to further widen a massive gender gap with the ex-president among women voters. A New York Times/Siena College poll this month showed Harris leading women voters by 56% to 40% over Trump. Harrison Beacher real estate agent and managing partner at Coalition Properties Group in Washington, D.C. States such as Georgia do not require real estate agents or sellers to disclose upfront if the home was the site of a death. Nearly three-quarters, 72%, of potential homebuyers said they would buy a "haunted" house for a lower price, according to a new report by Real Estate Witch, a data site owned by Clever Real Estate. In some states, real estate agents need to provide truthful information upon a buyer's request, or at the very least, point you toward the right direction to find out. Besides the real estate agent, neighbors can give you first-hand experience of the area, as well as information about the previous homeowners.

Fulton County prosecutors asked a Georgia appeals court this week to restore six charges against former President Donald Trump that were tossed in his indictment over attempts to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state. In a court filing, prosecutors from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' office requested that the state's Court of Appeals reinstate six counts, including three against Trump, that she said Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee wrongly discarded earlier this year. "The trial court erred by quashing six counts of the indictment in this case, each of which alleged the crime of Solicitation of Violation of Oath by Public Officer," they wrote. The three solicitation counts against Trump included accusations that he solicited Georgia House Speaker David Ralston and twice solicited Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Four of the original 19 co-defendants in the case have pleaded guilty, while Trump, Meadows, Giuliani and the others have pleaded not guilty.

But Trump also doubled down on his refusal to release his own health records — which Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Trump's campaign event Monday night was billed as a town hall where Trump would take questions from South Dakota Gov. Harris' medical history includes seasonal allergies and hives, but she has never experienced severe symptoms, Dr. Joshua Simmons wrote in the two-page letter. A day after releasing her records, Harris blasted Trump at a campaign rally in North Carolina. Is that what’s going on?”Invoking Trump’s medical history may serve a particular purpose for Harris, reminding voters that they're a generation apart in age and that at 78, Trump is the oldest presidential nominee in U.S. history. Trump told CBS News in August that he would release his medical records. Holding clipboards, Democratic campaign aides approached Harris supporters as they stood in line to enter the arena Sunday, inviting them to knock on doors on her behalf and to staff phone banks. A disc jockey kept Harris’ supporters entertained as they waited for her to take the stage, something of a campaign novelty meant to keep the crowd energized throughout.

Housing is one of many issues Vance, the Republican nominee, believes are rooted in the arrival of undocumented migrants in America. But many economists caution that connecting rising numbers of immigrants to housing costs is no simple thing. Other economists have noted links between immigrants and increased housing costs. Vance later shared two studies on housing and immigration that showed a link between increased immigration and rising housing costs — though each offered various caveats, including noting that the impact changes over time. Indeed, Zillow data shows a clear upward trend in Springfield rents this year compared with 2023.

ET, according to Peter Carr, the special counsel office’s spokesman. It is likely the filings will dig into Trump’s pressure campaign on Pence – conduct that the Supreme Court indicated might be covered under immunity. The footnotes alone citing their various exhibits would account for more than 30 pages of the main brief, prosecutors have said. The former president vehemently opposed the plan to file the Smith immunity brief now, as his lawyers equated the brief to the types of special counsel reports that aren’t released until after the work of a special counsel is done. Trump will have the opportunity to respond to the prosecutors’ brief with a filing due October 17.

A federal judge Monday rejected an effort by former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to move his Arizona indictment to federal court in a case focused on efforts to overturn Donald Trump's 2020 electoral defeat. U.S. District Judge John J. Tuchi said that Meadows missed a deadline to file his request and "has failed to show good cause that might permit the Court to excuse the untimeliness." An attorney for Meadows did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday night. In April, a state grand jury in Arizona indicted Meadows and two other former Trump aides — Rudy Giuliani and Boris Epshteyn — and several so-called “fake electors” over efforts to overturn Trump's election loss in the state in 2020. Meadows previously lost an attempt to move his Georgia indictment to federal court in a similar case.
