The recent data breach that exposed the sensitive information of some 300,000 Avis customers highlighted some critical vulnerabilities within the rental car industry. Yet, there's another, often overlooked security risk when drivers use a rental car: the personal data you unknowingly leave behind when syncing your mobile device to a rental car's infotainment system. Privacy policies say the customer is responsibleExperts agree that car rental companies need to start implementing best practices to better protect customers. Despite this, many rental companies lag in applying adequate protections. When you read those car rental agreements, they say you leave the data in the car, it's your problem.

DETROIT — The head of Ford Motor 's highly profitable "Pro" commercial and fleet business will retire at the end of this month, the company said Thursday. Ford Pro has been a profit-driver for the automaker. It has raked in about $18.7 billion in adjusted earnings and $184.5 billion in revenue since 2021, assisting in offsetting losses of its electric vehicles business. Such results led Wall Street to praise the business, as analysts have called it a "hidden gem" and Ford's "Ferrari ," referring to the highly profitable Italian sports car manufacturer.

In 1970 there had been only 18,333 students enrolled at degree-granting for-profit schools, less than a quarter of a percent of the total number of college students. In 2010, Tom Harkin, chair of the Senate's education committee, began a two-year investigation into for-profit schools. But even more shocking, federal money flowing to for-profit schools accounted for 25% of all federal student aid and 47% of eventual loan defaults. Students' money enriched every corner of the for-profit industry except one: quality of instruction. In fact, these for-profit students were actually worse off than if they hadn't gone to school at all.

The 2019 graduate studied product design at Stanford's School of Engineering. The internship quickly evolved into a full-time product design position. He initially thought he could get his filmmaking fix via a hobby that played second fiddle to his engineering work. But McRuer said he was ultimately surprised by the overlaps he's seen working in both engineering and film — particularly when producing.

There are currently a handful of electric trucks for purchase in the U.S. market: the Tesla Cybertruck, Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T and General Motors' GMC Hummer EV, GMC Sierra Denali and Chevrolet Silverado. The GMC Hummer and Rivian also have SUV versions, which feature similar functions as their pickup counterparts but in different forms. The SUV version is smaller and more manageable to drive than the pickup truck version. When the F-150 Lightning hit the market, it was the first "mainstream" electric truck. But, she told Business Insider, she didn't want to judge her employee for a clip spreading online. "It pissed me off because, number one, I'm 50 years old and menopausal, and I'm a Black woman," Saunders-Green said. CEO Jim Farley told investors in an earnings call on Wednesday that when it comes to EVs, bigger is not always better — and said that the company's future would depend on its ability to build smaller, cheaper electric vehicles.
