The Club has a broad range of companies with significant sales exposure to China, and some with none. Here's a look at the percentages in our 32 stock portfolio, as well as recent earnings call commentary, about the business climate and the potential in China. The company may have maintained its full-year revenue outlook, but that was taken as good enough after last quarter's debacle. Management also provided a better-than-expected sales, earnings, and recurring revenue outlook. The Good Abbott Laboratories : Sales, earnings and organic growth all exceeded analyst estimates. Broadcom : Sales and earnings outpaced expectations , driven by strong sales of its AI products and VMware software. CNN —The last operating public hospital in Sudan’s North Darfur state is at risk of closure, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) warned Wednesday, amid fierce fighting between the country’s rival military factions that have left more than 18,000 people dead and 33,000 injured. Civil war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) broke out in April last year and has intensified in El Fasher, the North Darfur capital, since May when the paramilitary RSF group encircled the city. The MSF-supported Saudi Hospital in El Fasher has suffered extensive damage following the continued bombardment of the city over the last week, leaving it barely functional, MSF said. “Sunday’s attack on Saudi Hospital – which is the largest hospital in North Darfur state – makes it crystal clear that the warring parties are making no efforts to protect health facilities or the civilians inside them. “This month’s determination of famine in one part of Sudan risks spreading and leading to a catastrophic loss of children’s lives,” the spokesman said.

DuPont's water business DuPont is considered a leader in purification and specialty-separation technologies that generates cleaner water for industries, governments, and communities. Arun Viswanathan, analyst at RBC Capital Markets, characterizes Dupont's water business' next-generation products as being "at the top of the technology pyramid." Dupont's water business is the smallest of the three companies that will be created by the breakup. As this exercise shows, DuPont's water business as a standalone firm would certainly deserve that compared to some. Potential M & A It's possible DuPont's water business never makes it to standalone status.

As for Club earnings, we got positive results from life sciences company Danaher and industrial firm Dover. Ford was a major disappointment and its nearly 20% stock drop for the week was the worst performer in the portfolio. ICC prosecutor Karim Khan announced in May he was seeking arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and three Hamas leaders – including Gaza chief Yahya Sinwar – over charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The court has no means of enforcement, however ICC members have an obligation to cooperate fully with its decisions. If the warrants are granted, Netanyahu and others could risk arrest when traveling to the 124 countries that are ICC members – including Germany and the United Kingdom. The international court still must assess submissions from other powers before making a decision on whether to grant the request for arrest warrants. The UK’s governing Labour party and its leader, former human rights lawyer Keir Starmer, have faced pressure from supporters to take a tougher stance on the Gaza war.

Dover's active portfolio management and commitment to capital returns sweeten the investment case. That improvement in the bioprocessing end market is super important because it has been a huge overhang for Danaher shares, and the life sciences space in general. We were concerned about the bioprocessing market after rival Sartorius cut its guidance last week. The management team has effectively navigated the bioprocessing slowdown better than others and kept expectations managed — a big reason we've stuck by the stock during a difficult few quarters. Based on these strong results and the improving bioprocessing market, we are raising our price target to $295 from $280 and reiterating our 1 rating. All three operating segments are expected to post sales decline rates in the low single digits.
