This is the college football season when some very un-Alabama things happened to Alabama. It started when the Crimson Tide lost a game in September. Things got worse when they rotated through three quarterbacks before finally naming a starter. They needed a second-half comeback to squeak past South Florida and then a miracle to win the Iron Bowl. The whole thing was deeply weird and unsettling, like Nick Saban cracking a smile.

(AP) — The mother of a woman killed near the University of Alabama has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in federal court against current Charlotte Hornets rookie Brandon Miller and two other men. Alabama enters the NCAA tournament as the overall top seed. The Crimson Tide won the SEC tournament on Sunday. The NCAA men’s basketball tournament selection committee on Sunday tapped Alabama as the top overall seed for this year’s edition of March Madness. The Crimson Tide, who defeated Texas A&M to win the Southeastern Conference tournament on Sunday afternoon, will play in the South region. 1 seeds by Houston in the Midwest, Purdue in the East and Kansas, the defending champions, in the West.

TCU (13-2), the first Cinderella team of the playoff era, never had a chance against the Georgia juggernaut. CNN —The Georgia Bulldogs will step up their pursuit of back-to-back national titles when they compete in the upcoming College Football Playoff. The Michigan Wolverines, Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs and the Ohio State Buckeyes join the Bulldogs in the playoff, the selection committee announced on Sunday. 3 TCU (12-1) in the Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This week, it was agreed that the College Football Playoff will expand from four to 12 teams starting with the 2024/25 season. The decision was made with the promise of “more excitement for fans, alumni, students and student-athletes,” according to Bill Hancock, executive director of the College Football Playoff.
