An eletric vehicle burst into flames outside of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, according to officials and videos on social media. In the videos circulating online, sirens can be heard inside the lobby of the Trump International Hotel as the vehicle just outside the doors is seen engulfed in flames. The Clark County Fire Department confirmed that it had responded to a vehicle fire in the valet area of the Trump International Hotel at approximatley 8:40 a.m. local time. CNN —Three firefighters and 12 passengers were injured when a train collided with a fire truck on an emergency call Saturday morning in Delray Beach, Florida, authorities said. An investigation into the cause of the collision is now underway, led by the Delray Beach Police Department, officials from the train operator Brightline and the National Transportation Safety Board, according to police. The three Delray Beach firefighters were transported to a hospital where they remain in stable condition, officials said. Delray Beach Fire Rescue had “a concurrent call for service just prior to this incident,” said Ronald Martin, the agency’s chief, at an afternoon news conference. The train collision Saturday is not the first incident involving a Brightline train since it expanded service to Orlando from South Florida in September 2023, according to CNN affiliate Spectrum News 13.

CNN —A 16-year-old boy in New Mexico has been charged with killing four members of his family, state police said on Sunday. Authorities in Valencia County received a 911 call in the early hours of Saturday when, according to state police, teenage suspect Diego Leyva said he had killed his family. Deputies were sent to the residence, located in the city of Belén, where Leyva walked out with his hands in the air. One of the victims, Adriana, had served for many years as an active volunteer firefighter, said the Valencia County Fire Department in a statement. It added that the Rio Communities Fire Department was “shocked and saddened by this loss.”

A fast-moving wildfire in Southern California that has grown to more than 14,000 acres prompted a Ventura County university to cancel classes and temporarily suspend campus operations as authorities struggle to get the blaze under control. Injuries were reported and homes were threatened in a Southern California wildfire that began Wednesday and, fueled by high winds, rapidly grew to over 10,000 acres, officials said. B&J Drive - InThe fire began at 8:51 a.m. local time, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said. High winds prevented fixed-wing aircraft from helping fight the fire, the Ventura County Fire Department said. The fire jumped State Route 118 and part of it was closed due to fire on both sides of the freeway, the California Department of Transportation said. Smoke was also limiting visibility and slowing traffic on the busy 101 freeway, south of the state route, the department said on X.
