On Facebook, there were three times as many explicitly conservative news influencers (39% to 13%), and on Instagram conservatives outnumbered liberals, 30-25%. “Many Republicans have long believed that social media sites censor conservative viewpoints. Social media influencers differ from trained journalists in how they report facts, often weaving their own views into current events or presenting opinions as reportable facts. Over the summer, Florida’s Broward County Public Schools made the decision to ban students from using cellphones and other communication devices for the entire school day. It's a particularly sensitive topic in Broward County after the 2018 Parkland shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which is in the district. Carline Dumoulin, a mother of two students at Broward’s Cypress Bay High School, is one of those signatories. Broward County school board member Debra Hixon was present at the meeting where the rule was approved, but had left before the vote. Last year, a video of several students fighting at West Broward High School circulated online, gaining thousands of views on X.

LinkedIn has seen a 29% increase this year in users who list their preferred pronouns. AdvertisementDetractors might consider it woke, but more professionals are including their preferred pronouns on their LinkedIn profiles. LinkedIn added space for users to include their preferred pronouns in their profiles in March 2021. Cooper, who said she doesn't indicate preferred pronouns, said that for some people sharing their pronouns can signal support for marginalized groups. She said that, ultimately, while some people find comfort in sharing their preferred pronouns, what that says about a person might be limited.
