That could give interest rate-sensitive sectors such as commercial real estate long-awaited positive momentum. While lower rates are not a "magic bullet," the easing of the Fed's monetary policy "lays the groundwork for a commercial real estate recovery," analysts wrote in a follow-up report in late September. More than $40 billion in transactions occurred during the second quarter, a 13.9% jump quarter over quarter, but still 9.4% lower year over year, according to real estate data intelligence firm Altus Group. While these dynamics could set the stage for a broader recovery, with some major subsectors such as commercial retail real estate picking up in tandem, the path forward will likely be uneven.

Vem Miller, the man arrested near former President Donald Trump’s rally Saturday in Coachella, California, denied in an online video Monday that he was trying to assassinate Trump. Miller, 49, of Nevada, who was arrested on state weapons charges a quarter-mile from the rally, said he is a longtime supporter of Trump. He said that he was invited to the rally by Republican officials in Nevada and that “false and defamatory statements have been released by the police in the region.”“I’m a Trump caucus captain. No, it wasn’t a recreational golfer out for an early 18 holes; it was nine-time PGA Tour champion Matt Kuchar, the only golfer in the field at the Wyndham Championship who hadn’t finished the tournament on Sunday. Less than 12 hours earlier, Kuchar baffled onlookers when he marked his ball in the 18th rough and walked off the course. “Sorry that you guys had to come out this morning,” Kuchar said sheepishly. Kuchar said he thought Greyserman still had a chance to win the tournament and believed that his stopping would prompt Greyserman to follow suit.
