For one consumer "[i]t felt like a betrayal" because GM took "information that [he] didn't realize was going to be shared[.]" In recent years, automakers, including G.M., Honda, Kia and Hyundaí, have started offering optional features in their connected-car apps that rate people's driving. Some drivers may not realize that, if they turn on these features, the car companies then give information about how they drive to data brokers like LexisNexis... Especially troubling is that some drivers with vehicles made by G.M.

Sundaram, now CEO at Applied, is making it her mission to kill the résumé — or at least diminish its role in hiring. Sundaram wants other leaders to follow suit because our work bios — and even job experience — aren't always good predictors of who will succeed in a role. The company might use only five or six questions per test to help identify suitable job candidates. When employers do want to see a résumé, Applied can use AI to strip away information about gender and ethnicity. For her part, Sundaram expects AI will change how so many people work that job candidates' employment histories might often reflect a smorgasbord of experiences.

Adding to his impressive on-court CV, Butler can now add music video star to his resume after appearing in Fall Out Boy’s ‘So Much (For) Stardust’ video released Wednesday. A play on Pete Wentz’s name – Fall Out Boy’s bassist – Butler is seen as Heat Wentz in the video. “Yeah, yeah, yeah, laugh it up,” Butler told reporters during the NBA media day before the season tipped off. In his emo season, Butler is averaging 21.5 points to go alongside 5.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists.

Are you sure you’re doing the right thing? Whereas “self-partnered’ connotes a vague but cheerful sense of romantic self-care, “boysober” very obviously comes with baggage. To get painfully literal about it: The existence of “boysober” implies the existence of “boydrunk.” Going boysober, one can therefore assume, isn’t just about celibacy or a break from dating. Woodard gets into this in a YouTube video she’s posted ahead of a podcast series on her boysober project. Even if you’re not wholly sure what you’re doing, claiming some agency over that process is reassuring.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon believes it has identified the mechanical failure that led to a fatal crash of an Osprey aircraft in Japan and the grounding of the fleet for two months, a U.S. defense official told The Associated Press. The Air Force investigation is continuing into the Nov. 29 Air Force special operations command CV-22 crash, which killed eight service members. The crash led to a rare grounding on Dec. 6 of about 400 Osprey aircraft across the three services. Both the Air Force and Marine Corps have been running the Osprey's engines; the Marines have been conducting ground movements to keep the aircraft working. While the current Osprey standdown is one of the largest military aircraft groundings in terms of affecting three services’ flight operations, it’s not the longest.
