Brendan Smialowski | Afp | Getty ImagesA second presidential term for former President Donald Trump could reignite global inflation as his America-first policies drive up costs across the world, analysts warned. "The level of inflation is higher, inflation expectations are higher, and we're still in this inflation mindset." A recent poll of economists suggested, however, that the majority see inflation ticking higher under Trump due to his hard-line protectionist stance. watch nowThat higher inflation could spill over into Asia, too, Nomura's Gareth Nicholson said in a note to CNBC. In Europe, Goldman Sachs predicted in a Friday note that a Trump presidency could add a 0.1 percentage point increase to inflation as higher tariffs weigh on global trade.

Read previewDonald Trump's former White House national security advisor is arguing that a second term in office should involve restarting US nuclear testing for the first time in over 30 years. No one wins a nuclear arms race, he said. Kimball called out the difference between O'Brien's argument for the resumption of nuclear testing with the Biden administration's current policy, which remains dedicated to the status quo. "Resuming nuclear testing would reduce US technical superiority over Russia and China because they would immediately follow and have much more to learn," he said. O'Brien's push for resumed testing shouldn't necessarily come as a surprise.

While Musk hasn't formally endorsed Trump, one reason Silicon Valley heavy-hitters could be gravitating toward a convicted former president is a desire to see less regulation on tech development in America. AdvertisementCuban, a vocal opponent of Trump who has expressed his support for Joe Biden, told Business Insider in an email that he views the support from Silicon Valley and Wall Street billionaires for Trump as "self-serving." "So unless it's very light touch, which is unlikely at this point, the more influence they have over Ai regulation the better the opportunity to advantage themselves." "It's still very early to be imposing regulation," Sacks said. Opinion: How is Netanyahu still in power?

View more opinion on CNNCNN —A recent visitor to Israel told me about a conversation in which he noted that Benjamin Netanyahu is the worst prime minister in modern Israel’s history. Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel are becoming increasingly isolated internationally, though experts say this could fortify the prime minister domestically. Israel’s longest-serving prime minister had been largely successful politically, but his personal style and alleged corruption turned many Israelis against him. Are there five courageous members of Likud willing to take the necessary action to move Israel beyond Netanyahu? That is unlikely to happen, however, as long as Netanyahu remains in power.
