Beyoncé has already won 28 Grammys, the most by any female artist, and is within striking distance of the all-time record of 31, which is held by the Hungarian conductor Georg Solti. Her 88 overall nominations have tied her with husband Jay-Z for the most in history. Pop superstar Harry Styles received six nominations, including the 28-year-old's first for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Album of the Year for 2022's "Harry's House". CNN —“You Oughta Know” why Alanis Morissette didn’t perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony over the weekend. The singer had been advertised to perform “You’re So Vain” with Olivia Rodrigo as a tribute to inductee Carly Simon. “There are some misinformed rumblings about my not performing at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this past weekend,” Morissette wrote in an Instagram story on Monday. “I tolerated it because nothing would stop me from connecting with those who I cared about and resonated with. I’ll continue to show up in those environments with bells on.”CNN has reached out to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for comment.
For much of 2021, my 11-year-old son and I had a bedtime ritual: brush teeth, watch Leslie Jordan videos, read. Our nightly Leslie Jordan check-ins had become more than just punchlines and stories. A gay actor and comedian, Jordan would toe the line with sexual innuendo one day (have you seen his Back Door Donuts post? With all due respect to social skills therapists, a Jordan video proved much more fun than our usual lessons about tone of voice and body language. “But is he married or is he gay?” Daniel asked, and around and around we went one night.
NEW YORK — Joni Mitchell’s return to the stage in August was a surprise, but fans can plan for the next one. “And she is going to crush it.”Carlile brought Mitchell onstage with her at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island during the summer. Carlile will perform there on June 9 and open for Mitchell the next night, she said.
That helps explain why many were so excited when Joni Mitchell gave a surprising performance in July at the Newport Folk Festival. Now, according to fellow singer Brandi Carlile, the legendary artist will once again take to the stage. “After Newport, Joni said ‘I want to do another show.’ She said ‘I want to play again,’” Carlile told “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah. “No one’s been able to buy a ticket to see Joni Mitchell play in 20 years,” she continued. She and Carlile are close friends, with Mitchell introducing her at the annual Grammy Awards earlier this year.
