Israel’s military forces crossed the border into southern Lebanon on Monday to conduct what its military described as “limited, localized, and targeted ground raids” against the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah. Follow here for live coverage"A few hours ago, the IDF began limited, localized, and targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence against Hezbollah terrorist targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon," Israeli officials said in a statement. Israeli soldiers spent roughly a week southern Lebanon pushing the PLO north of Lebanon's Litani River. Israel then invaded southern Lebanon in 1982, once again chasing after Palestinian Liberation Organization fighters that had made the country a base. Within Lebanon, Hezbollah is also a political party with seats in the country's parliament and provides social services to civilians.

And yet, the unemployment rate continues to inch up, job openings continue to fall, and payroll data continue to underwhelm. But how long that enthusiasm can continue to outweigh declining labor market indicators remains to be seen. AdvertisementThe first is declining job openings, which are down to 7.6 million from 2022 highs above 12 million. BullAndBearProfits.comAnother sign Wolfenbarger shared showing the labor market is turning sour is the Kansas City Fed's Labor Market Conditions Index, which is a composite of 24 job market indicators. BullAndBearProfits.comFinally, in a September 2 note, Wolfenbarger shared a chart from Bank of America showing the decline in private job growth as a share of all job growth.

S & P down 5.50% here, headlines of a Nikkei crash, and another great Yen carry unwind happening. I traded for a hedge fund and served as senior technical analyst for an foreign exchange company during the great financial crisis of 2008 that saw a severe yen carry unwind. If the line is headed south the dollar is weakening relative to the yen, and the yen is strengthening relative to the dollar. I believe that the July 11th CPI print that came 0.1% below expectations was the culprit to this whole yen carry unwind. Could this yen carry unwind move further?

To start let's examine the 200-day moving average on the daily chart below shown as a dashed blue line. Looking back to the most recent correction in April, that was the support level of the price-to-moving average spread: 34%. We could be approaching a support level based on this analysis. This could occur by price continuing to move lower along with the moving average trending higher as the recent higher price readings factor into the average. The 50-day moving average of the daily volume totals is clearly in a decline since April.

This drop in such a short period seems overly exaggerated, and I'm on the lookout for signs of a bounce to initiate a bullish trade on CRWD. DMI (Directional Movement Index): The DMI is composed of three lines: DI+ (green line), DI- (red line), and ADX (blue line). When the DI- (red line) is above the DI+ (green line), it indicates a downtrend. Note that both DI- and DI+ are changing direction, which provides the first indication of a possible trend change. The Trade To take a bullish trade on CRWD, I'm using a trade structure called a "bull call spread."

Opinion: Destined to be a lame duck

We’re looking back at the strongest, smartest opinion takes of the week from CNN and other outlets. When Biden and Trump meet in a debate on CNN Thursday, expect part of the audience to be wondering exactly who and what will come next. Biden, who’s battling low approval ratings, is sticking with Vice President Kamala Harris, whose polls are also bleak. There were 28, and we’ve had 11 so far this year, Bridget Johnson noted in the first of a CNN Opinion series about America’s preparedness. “It’s a measure of his hold on American society that he’s still revered a half-century later,” wrote Frederic J. Frommer.

They discussed a wide range of topics including the situation on Israel’s northern border, Iran and the ceasefire and hostage negotiations, sources said. Since Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, Hezbollah’s provocations against Israel have continued – and escalated in recent weeks. If Hezbollah were to significantly expand the scale of its attacks on Israel, resulting in the deaths of Israelis, US officials expect Israel to respond with full force. As CNN reported, US officials have serious concerns that in the event of a full-blown war between Israel and Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group could overwhelm Israel’s air defenses in the north — including the much-vaunted Iron Dome air defense system. In this week’s meetings, US and Israeli officials discussed possible “off-ramps” to try to lower the temperature along the so-called Blue Line that separates Lebanon and Israel, the senior administration official said.

CNN —The most uncancellable person in US History — iconic American singer, songwriter and actress, Dolly Parton — has been caught in the crosshairs of cancel culture. Have the haters run afoul and gone and ruined Dolly Parton as the magical unifier that she has long been known for? But Dolly Parton slid through over the past years, decades even, largely unscathed by the polarization and division. Indeed, the pitchforks coming for Dolly Parton serve as an apt reminder of America’s decline and sheer terror of the evitability of civil war. That is, if we can heal from this episode and uncancel Dolly Parton.

The stock price is stalling near resistance around the $128 price level and I have a bearish options trade to capitalize on it. To further confirm a bearish bias on EXPE, I am using 3 technical indicators in the chart below: RSI (Relative Strength Index): As a stock climbs up, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) gauges the strength of the trend. DMI (Directional Movement Index): When the DI+ (green line) is above DI- (red line), the stock is in an uptrend. The Trade Setup: A Bear Put Spread I am using a “bear put spread” as my trade structure here. Most trading platforms will offer a bear put spread (or long put spread) as a trade type and automatically construct the trade for you.

Dylan Holloway added two goals for the Oilers, and Mattias Janmark, Adam Henrique, Darnell Nurse, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ryan McLeod had the others. Instead, the Oilers became the fourth team in a row to win Game 4 to extend a series after dropping the first three games of a Stanley Cup Final. “It only counts as one win,” Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov said. He was in on all three goals the Oilers had in the middle frame, scoring once and adding two assists. Leon Draisaitl, Hyman and Nugent-Hopkins were all pointless — a big reason the Oilers were in their gigantic hole.

Like so many speculative growth ETFs and stocks, the S & P SPDR Biotech (XBI) ETF is nowhere close to its former all-time high from early 2021. Even though the ETF now is up considerably from that point, many traders still have wanted nothing to do with it. We can understand why, especially when so many other stocks surpassed their respective former highs many months ago. The vertical blue lines depict when the 50-DMA crossing OVER the 200-DMA led to strong and extended upside follow through. It's been a challenging few years for XBI, but as these charts show, the blueprint for a continued comeback is there.
