Picsart, a photo and video editing company, debuted a new artificial intelligence-powered feature that allows users to replace images of former flames with everything from red flags to snakes. Google announced it developed an AI bot that generates music based on text descriptions. The tech giant is ramping up its AI efforts after issuing a "code red" following the explosion of ChatGPT. In a research paper published Thursday, Google researchers described MusicLM as "a model generating high-fidelity music from text descriptions such as 'a calming violin melody backed by a distorted guitar riff.'" Per the study, identifiable existing songs were found in approximately 1% of examples, pointing to potential copyright infringement. The study also notes the technology's existing limitations, including the use of negations and temporal ordering used in text prompts, as well as vocal quality.
Amazon is adding delivery fees on all grocery orders under $150, the company announced Friday. "This service fee will help keep prices low in our online and physical grocery stores," Amazon said on Friday. The company previously offered free delivery on all grocery orders over $50. Specifically, Amazon will tack on a delivery fee of $3.95 for orders between $100 and $150, $6.95 for orders between $50 and $100, and $9.95 for orders under $50, per the email. Previously, Amazon Prime members could get free delivery on all orders over $50.
A new lawsuit claims Sazerac is misleading consumers that its 99 cent "Fireball Cinnamon" product contains whisky. The product, which debuted in 2020, contains malt liquor flavored to taste like whisky. The suit claims the company created the "overall misleading impression" that it contains whisky. A former CVS employee in Texas is suing the company after it fired her for refusing to give out birth control. The suit claims the company granted her "religious accommodation" until it reversed the policy in August 2021. The suit claims CVS previously granted Strader religious accommodation so that she was not required to give out birth control at the MinuteClinic where she worked in Keller, Texas. Currently, six states — Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Mississippi, and South Dakota — allow pharmacists to refuse to dispense birth control pills or Plan B for religious reasons. Strader's suit follows similar legal action taken by CVS nurse practitioners in Virginia and Kansas, who also claim the company fired them for refusal to provide birth control to customers.
PepsiCo is replacing Sierra Mist with Starry, a new lemon-lime soda. Starry has a "more balanced, cleaner, crisp finish than Sierra Mist," a spokesperson told Insider.
