Lobster fishing is a game of inches, and the number of inches is about to change. Fishing regulators are instituting a new rule that lobster fishermen must abide by stricter minimum sizes for crustaceans they harvest. The changes do not apply in Canada, which has an even larger lobster fishing industry than the U.S. Some scientists who study the fishery have supported the minimum size change. But the lobster industry sees a different story, said Patrice McCarron, executive director of the Maine Lobstermen’s Association, the oldest and largest fishing industry association on the East Coast.

The campaign has 36 coordinated offices and 300 staffers in Pennsylvania, which Harris has already visited seven times this year. But addressing 14 risk factors over the course of one’s life — starting in childhood — could prevent or delay nearly half of cases, according to a large report by 27 dementia experts. “The progress in preventing and treating dementia is accelerating.”The initial 12 risk factors were linked with 40% of cases, but the new report suggests addressing the 14 risk factors could help eliminate or delay 45% of dementia cases, said Livingston, a professor of psychiatry of older people at University College London. This “critical” update calls attention to two risk factors that preventive neurologist Dr. Richard Issacson says his clinical practice has been evaluating for over a decade. When I started taking Pilates no one thought about diet or exercise. Sometimes, we would smoke cigarettes in the Pilates studio and go for martinis afterward. Peloton isn't going under imminently, but let's be real here: No fitness fad lasts forever. While there was a lot that went wrong, the long and short of it is that Peloton failed to read the room on its pandemic popularity. "It's not that Peloton isn't a good business model; it's that it simply isn't a mass product but more of a niche, luxe one," she said. Investors have soured on the company, and Peloton's once $50 billion market cap has fallen to under $2 billion. It also has to contend with the gym, which has all sorts of classes and fitness equipment that let people mix things up, including, in many cases, Pelotons or other connected-fitness devices.

Shares of Xponential Fitness , the parent company of CycleBar and Pure Barre fitness studios, bounced around in trading Monday after the company announced late Friday that CEO Anthony Geisler would be suspended indefinitely and would become an inactive member of the board. Xponential Fitness, which owns more than 3,000 boutique fitness and wellness studios globally, also said it received notice last week of a probe by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California. Piper Sandler maintains a hold rating on Xponential Fitness stock, but lowered its price target to $9 from $12. Xponential Fitness' leadership had previously disclosed an SEC investigation in December, which alleged that the company provided false and/or misleading information to investors, including unit volume metrics and franchise closures. "The Company intends to continue cooperating with the SEC and intends to cooperate with the USAO," Xponential Fitness said in a press release announcing the executive changes.

JPMorgan researchers estimate that 30 million people may be taking GLP-1 drugs by 2030, or around 9% of the US population. For now, GLP-1 medications are prohibitively expensive for most Americans, costing about $1,000 or more a month. By Michelle Nichols and Giulia ParaviciniUNITED NATIONS/NAIROBI (Reuters) - The United Nations Security Council is due to vote on Friday to remove the final restrictions on weapons deliveries to Somalia's government and its security forces, diplomats said, more than 30 years after an arms embargo was first imposed on the country. The 15-member body is due to adopt two British-drafted resolutions on Friday, diplomats said - one to remove the full arms embargo on Somalia and another to reimpose an arms embargo on Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab militants. One of the draft resolutions spells out that "for the avoidance of doubt, that there is no arms embargo on the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia." Somalia's government had long asked for the arms embargo to be removed so it could beef up its forces to take on the militants.
