Bumble's new guidelines now include standing up a date as a form of "bullying and abusive conduct." Bumble told Insider it could take action against someone who ghosts a mutually agreed-upon date. The online dating company recently updated its community guidelines to explicitly include ghosting someone on a date as an action that falls under "bullying and abusive conduct." We aim to create an experience which is free from behavior that makes any individual or group feel harassed, bullied, or targeted," the company's policy page reads. These rules also apply to Bumble BFF, the company's platonic platform for meeting friends.

Tu says leaving Wall Street was one of the best decisions she's ever made. I wanted to go on to Wall Street because that's what everybody else was doing. I chose Wall Street because a lot of my friends were interviewing for Wall Street jobs, and I didn't want to be left behind. I had never really thought about investing or growing my wealth until I hit the desk on Wall Street. George Mickum, Gillian Hearst's former BFF, sold the heiress and his other rich friends fake Birkins. But the first red flag should have been a forged Hermès receipt that featured the wrong font. There wasn't even a dust bag; Mickum claimed his mom's assistant would drop it off later. It was floppy, like a bouncy castle that had lost half its air, instead of having the architectural stiffness of a real Hermès bag. The HAC was one of at least six fake Hermès bags Mickum had sold to friends, including Hearst.

CNN —If TikTok and Reddit influencers are to be believed, the plant-based compound called berberine can be a replacement for such popular diabetes and weight loss drugs as Ozempic and Wegovy. Is berberine’s weight loss effect meaningful? Berberine may enhance the body’s natural production of GLP-1, or glucagon-like peptide 1, a gastrointestinal hormone that’s used in Ozempic and other new weight loss drugs. However, in terms of its weight loss benefits, they are modest at best,” he said. “Metformin lowers blood sugar, and berberine lowers blood sugar,” Levitt said.

Snapchat+ offers access to “exclusive, experimental and pre-release features,” according to a blog post from Snap Thursday. As of Thursday, subscribers have access to more than 20 features, “including custom app themes, unique app icons, and the ability to pin your #1 BFF,” the company added. Amazon, Dropbox and Lyft had the biggest layoffs in the tech industry for April. Google and Meta Platforms are responsible for the most tech layoffs since the pandemic, according to Layoffs.fyi. Look at WARN notices in your stateSo-called WARN notices can help workers figure out if layoffs are coming, Vivian Tu, a former trader turned influencer who goes by "Your Rich BFF," said in a March Instagram video. However, sometimes companies can avoid releasing these notices by spreading out the layoffs, said Susan Houseman, director of research for the W.E. "So maybe you're going to lay off 75, say you lay off 40 one month and 26 the next to avoid WARN notice," she said.

Scott’s frequent leading man Denzel Washington brings tormented complexity to the grizzled hero, whose shift at M.T.A. dispatch is disrupted by a madman (John Travolta) whose crew takes over a subway car and holds its passengers hostage. Even if you haven't taken the Enneagram test yourself, you may have been roped into a conversation about it. The Enneagram is 'focused on internal emotions rather than external behaviors'Unlike other personality tests, the Enneagram has an unlikely foothold in disparate communities. Howe, who lives in Pasadena, California, grew up taking the Myers-Briggs Test and other personality tests, but said the Enneagram is different. She first heard of the Enneagram test from a friend but didn't take it seriously until she read "The Road Back to You." Like astronomy or other typologies, every Enneagram test result is positive.
What's the first thing that pops into your head when you hear the term "private equity?" PE firms do plenty of things quite well (and they are certainly compensated for their work), but their internal tech has never been a top priority. What I find most fascinating about the so-called "digitization" of PE isn't so much the actual tech but the culture. Click here to learn more about the 12 executives helping PE firms get up to speed on cutting-edge tech they can use to source and close deals. Follow the 50/30/20 methodThe 50/30/20 method is one of Tu's favorite ways to manage her money because it can make budgeting really easy. Lastly, put the final 20% of your money toward savings, investments and paying down additional debt. Higher interest rates will cost you more in the long run, so it's smart to pay those debts off first. Next, you can turn your attention toward paying down debts with lower interest rates. Since low-interest debt tends to be less costly, you can also start putting money toward investments like your 401(k).
Over the years, online dating has become almost completely normalized. A recent study showed that 39% of straight couples met online in the U.S. and more than half of LGBTQ couples have used dating apps, according to the Pew Research Center. Apps like Bumble BFF and Meetup have become popular ways to build platonic relationships. Berger said that by the end of 2021, 15% of Bumble users had also used BFF, which is short for best friends forever. Schenk said that Morgan Stanley's 2023 revenue estimate for Bumble is just over $1 billion — with only about $1 million coming from Bumble BFF and friend-finding service Bizz.

Now, many Gen Zers are making friends online through apps like Bumble BFF and Meetup, while facing familiar criticisms. It's still not clear whether such friend-finding apps can grow to become a lucrative addition for internet dating companies.

Bumble also faces competition from larger rival Match Group Inc (MTCH.O), which topped revenue estimates last week on the back of a jump in paying users for its flagship app Tinder. Bumble now expects current-quarter revenue between $232 million and $237 million, compared to Wall Street's estimates of $254.5 million, according to Refinitiv data. Earlier in March, Bumble said it is discontinuing operations in Russia, including the removal of all of its apps from Apple App Store and Google Play Store in Russia and Belarus. Bumble, which made its market debut in February 2021, said its total paying users increased to 3.3 million during the quarter. The sequel to Netflix’s hit feature film “Enola Holmes” may not have the cleverest title, but “Enola Holmes 2” is just as quick-witted and charming as the original. A quirky take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mysteries, Enola is more than ready for another adorable, all-ages romp. Springer’s books, and the films, invent a female character that Doyle never conceived of, and put her front and center. “Sherlock Holmes” is one of the most adapted mysteries series in history. Hopefully the success of the “Enola Holmes” franchise encourages them to make more.
I bonds or real estate trusts are investments that can diversify your portfolio, said Vivian Tu. It takes place against the backdrop of the French Revolution between the two cities of Paris and London. On the other hand, many often view an economic downturn as an opportunity to build wealth. Another option is real estate trusts. "Right now, we are in a time where investors have so much freedom because they don't have to buy full shares," Tu said.
He says there are seven types of bosses out there — and while five of them can make your life a nightmare at work, you can still find ways to manage your relationships with them. Here are those five types of bad bosses, from most to least common — and how to deal with them, according to Gimbel. Ghost bossA ghost boss takes an extreme "hands-off" approach, failing to keep track of their team's work and not being available when their team needs help, Gimbel says. His recommendation: Regularly update your boss about your work and ask questions whenever you need help. Narcissist bossNarcissist bosses make decisions according to their own wants and needs, and fail to consider the people around them at work, Gimbel says.
Others only seem good at first, and you can use this guide to differentiate between the two, says workplace culture expert Tom Gimbel. "There's an expression: 'People join companies, but they quit bosses," Gimbel tells CNBC Make It. Gimbel says there are seven types of bosses, with one clearly better than the rest. Socializing at work certainly isn't bad, but Gimbel says those bosses prioritize making friends over properly leading and keeping a team accountable. Those bosses don't realize that it's largely their fault when a finished assignment is far from what they want.
