An American Airlines passenger lost his wallet with an Apple AirTag inside it in January. The airline told Lewis it could not find his wallet, but eventually found the AirTag lodged under a seat. Lewis said the AirTag stayed on the plane for days, and traveled to dozens of cities. American Airlines passenger John Lewis tweeted last month that he lost his wallet with an Apple AirTag inside while aboard a flight to Fort Lauderdale. Upon contacting American Airlines, Lewis said he was informed that crews had cleaned the plane, but did not find his wallet.
