Russia is stepping up its use of decoy drones to distract Ukrainian air defenses in mass aerial attacks, according to The Institute for the Study of War (ISW). This, said the ISW's analysts, suggests that "Russian forces likely used a large number of decoy drones to overwhelm Ukrainian air defenses." The Associated Press in November found that Russia was using swarms of fake drones to surround deadly thermobaric drones, which are highly destructive.

The lawsuit said Shen Yun has made hundreds of millions of dollars by exploiting young dancers it recruits from abroad, forcing them to work grueling hours and scaring them into thinking they’d face harm if they quit. According to the website, Shen Yun, along with Fei Tian Academy of the Arts and Fei Tian College — which were also named as defendants — were founded by followers of the Falun Gong faith. After the first year, she was paid $500 a month until she “graduated” from Fei Tian College in 2019, when her salary was raised to $1,000 a month, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit said she contracted measles when she was 14 but was not permitted to see a doctor. Instead, the lawsuit said, she was told to meditate to feel better and was required to work while she recovered.

CNN —A mother who kept her baby daughter in a drawer under her bed for almost three years has been jailed for seven and a half years in Britain. He went on to tell the court that the little girl was left alone when her mother went to work, took the other children to school and even when she went to stay with relatives over Christmas. He alerted family members and later that day social services attended the property, where they found the girl in a drawer. When confronted, the mother “did not show any emotion and appeared blasé,” the social worker told the court in a statement. His average of 11.2 strikeouts per nine innings is the highest ever recorded in major league history. Snell is also one of only seven pitchers to have won the Cy Young Award in both the American League and National League, having collected the award in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Rays and in 2023 with the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers reportedly made a move for Snell following his success in San Diego, but the Seattle native eventually ended up with the San Francisco Giants in mid-March of 2024. Over 18,000 people have registered online to run for Supreme Court seats and federal judgeships in Mexico’s contentious new selection process, officials said Monday. The ruling party pushed through a constitutional reform in September to make all federal judges stand for election, replacing the system where court employees and lawyers mainly move up through the ranks. Now, candidates for Supreme Court seats and federal judgeships need only a law degree, a grade point average of 3.2, “five years of professional experience” and five letters of recommendation from neighbors or friends. According to the plan, evaluation committees will have just over a month to review thousands of resumes and whittle the field to about 10 candidates or less for each of the 881 judgeships and nine seats on the Supreme Court. Some critics argue that the current justice system, which is riddled with nepotism, corruption and a lack of accountability, needs to be changed.

Week 12 saw plenty of heavy favorites face underdogs, but it didn’t prove as simple as many thought. Barkley rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in the Eagles’ Week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers. While that still might be the case, it’s not been smooth sailing for the Texans through 12 weeks of the season. He has struggled behind a porous offensive line and that affected the running game on Sunday with Mixon only having 22 yards on 14 carries. The Seahawks currently lead the division having gotten the favorable tiebreaker thanks to their Week 12 home victory over the Cardinals.

While economists say this holiday shopping season could ultimately be the most normal one (sales-wise) since before the pandemic, it’s also decked out with plenty of uncertainty. While it would set a new record as well (keep in mind, those figures aren’t adjusted for inflation), this holiday season might be a little more muted than last. A shortened holiday seasonA short shopping season, however, may force the hands of retailers who are looking to hold back on deep promotions. This year, there are 26 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, marking the shortest holiday shopping season possible. Courtesy Dan MarshallMarshall remains quite optimistic that Mischief will enjoy yet another strong Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and, ultimately, holiday season.

But the Egyptian Meteorological Authority on Saturday warned about turbulence and high waves on the Red Sea and advised against maritime activity for Sunday and Monday. Infowars was briefly shut down after the sale was announced before it resumed operating with Jones, who claimed the site was "hijacked." More than 30 pilot whales that stranded themselves on a beach in New Zealand were safely returned to the ocean after conservation workers and residents helped to refloat them by lifting them on sheets. Four of the pilot whales died, New Zealand’s conservation agency said. New Zealand is a whale stranding hotspot and pilot whales are especially prolific stranders. “This response demonstrates the deep connection we all share with our marine environment.”A large crowd assisted with the rescue of the stranded whales. Both the North and South Islands feature stretches of protruding coastline with shallow, sloping beaches that can confuse species such as pilot whales — which rely on echolocation to navigate.
