CNN —Eva Longoria has chosen to live her life outside of the US. For years, her family has primarily lived outside of Hollywood and now split their time between Spain and Mexico, according to the publication. Longoria said she has increasingly felt like the US is “a scary place” and that she feels it will continue to be following the results of the presidential election. She acknowledged that she is “privileged” to be able to provide an escape abroad for herself and her family. “I would like to think our fight continues,” she said of her work with the Democratic party.

The fight for legal equality allowed women with the necessary means to pay for college and find jobs with good salaries, for instance. In last week’s election, some women said they specifically appreciated Mr. Trump’s support for their role as mothers. Some believe Mr. Trump will support their position that parents, not the government should decide whether children are vaccinated. And they said they saw the rising cost of groceries as an affront to women trying to feed their families, and something they think Mr. Trump can stem.

Ballot drop boxes in Portland, Oregon, and neighboring Vancouver, Washington, were set on fire early Monday morning, police said, just over a week out from Election Day. The Portland Police Bureau said an "incendiary device" was placed inside of a sidewalk ballot box in the Central City district. At around 4 a.m. local time, about a half-hour after the reported fire in Portland, police in Vancouver also responded to a ballot box fire. Earlier this month, the Vancouver bomb squad responded to reports of a "suspicious device" near a downtown ballot box, police said. The device was "safely removed" and the ballot box itself was "not compromised," according to a news release.

CNN —Authorities are investigating after at least two ballot boxes were set on fire Monday morning in the Portland, Oregon, area. Police responded to a call about a fire in Portland about 3:30 a.m. Monday, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement. An “incendiary device” was placed inside the box and security personnel extinguished the fire, officials said. A second ballot box was set on fire early Monday morning at a bus station in nearby Vancouver, Washington, according to the Vancouver Police Department. When officers arrived, they found a “suspicious device” next to the box, which was smoking and on fire, police said.
